  • Driving License RTO change

    Transport)

I was told the following options:

    1. Approach any nearby DL Zonal Office (Sheikh Sarai being nearest) and collect NOC form and submit to hyderabad DL authority to get NOC. Then submit original license and appear for only driving road test and then get permanent DL delhi.

    OR

    2. In case my Hyd DL is lost; then file FIR in Delhi here and make an application to DL authority at Sheikh Sarai here with copy of lost license. No need to give any exams. (surprising when compared to first).

    I have following documents:

    1. Xerox copy of registered (and notarized) rent agreement
    2. MTNL one month phone bill
    3. SBI Local Bank Account Passbook for 3 months

I am actually not sure whats the correct way and steps.

Could anyone pls guide / share his experience so that I am not caught in messy web of DL process pls?

    Thank You
    Regards

Why do you want to get into all this hassle? The Driving license clearly mentions that it is an All-India driving license which is valid in India and Nepal. It doesn't matter if you don't stay in HYD anymore. The Driving license is just a photo-identity proof, not an address proof. So it really doesn't matter what RTO awards you your DL / what address is mentioned on it.

If you absolutely HAVE to apply for a driving license in Delhi, please apply for a fresh, brand new one. THAT would be worth the hassle since you actually get 5 years of extra validity if you go through the entire drill.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
