wow..reading it alone is unnerving. I doubt if i would have stopped in the first place. Maybe only after assessing the situation to save my own skin..but im sure i wouldn't have followed him or informed the police.
You did a really courageous and humane thing there Satyen.

Good work there Satyen bhaiya, I'm Proud of you!BTW Why didn't you just snatch his keys before you went to the cops? He could have been safer that way ...
Jokes apart, my Viewpoint is that such people don't get the Background to understand these things. We, many of us were told about Road ethics by our Parents, Friends, etc. But, not everyone is so lucky....
I mean, given a bad background & exposure, anyone of us could be a Poser like him - You, Me, anyone!
So, I think such people should be helped whenever you can. It's NOT their mistake they are born in the wrong house/ environment ... Moreover, such people give us reasons to be proud of being bikers, don't they?
Do reply if it's worth it, after all it's just an opinion ... & my condolences on your friend's sad death....Last edited by Samarth 619; 12-25-2008, 12:42 AM.---

Given the situation that was a very brave thing you did. Very few people act selflessly in such a situation. I thought I wouldn't see another one. Guess I was wrong. There are many on xBhp.
My salute to Aryan da and you.
Maybe one day,the guy will look back in time and thank you for this and give up drinking. The chances are bleak but nothing's impossible.sigpic

Satyen: Hats off to you for what you did.
@aryan: you believe it or not you are.
PS: Yesterday only i went through the testimonials you have got on your orkut profile, and after reading those, somehow i could not have expected anything less from you. You are really a good human being. Period.

These kinda threads are the ones' that set apart xBhp from just being another forum.
@Satyen : That was an extremely brave move to actually go to teh cops with such an incident man. The Pandus can be quite a handful sometimes if they're in a mood to dish out some grumpiness. This act of your's will hopefully set a precedent for people to take that step without fear to help someone.
We need more people like you man
@Aryan : Dada.. A closet samaritan too you are eh..?
I hope i can muster up the courage to do something as selfless as the both of you if and when an incident calls for it...Last edited by MavericK46; 12-25-2008, 01:05 PM.I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

About the other analogy of the events, man you missed the point by a mile!

I hope that guy is alive and perhaps has some inkling of who probably saved his life, and is grateful for it.

Though the incident is not directly related to Satyen's incident but is still relevant.
Actually a freak incident happened with us yesterday. Pune xBhpians met yesterday at Hotel Rupali on FC Road. When we came out, we found a bag on Naren's RTR. With the several reminders and awareness on abandoned articles, we were sceptical of the bag and enquired around if someone had left that by mistake. Since no one was identified as the owner, we decided to call the police. The bag was untouched but some smart a$$ bystander in a typical "kuch nahi hota" attitude picked the bag and opened it too. A Benq laptop belonging to some Infosys BPO employee (a tag inside) was found. We requested the hotel to keep the bag and return it to the owner should he be back enquiring for it, but the hotel owner refused. We finally handed the bag to the police station.
Ideally the police should have been alterted before the bag was touched. The smart A$$ did not obviously worry about himself and nor others. What if it was not a laptop inside...what if it was something more dreadful...I hope all of you understand what I mean!Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
