third gear?? esteem??? 160??? was it turbocharged???

160 = speedo indicated

and no the car wasn't turbocharged..
only a mild exhaust job and K&N conical filter....
me thinks that on a good mpfi esteem, 160 is truly possible because of the extra ordinarily tall gearing.....

125 on a CBZ?? Was it modded? I couldnt get my old Cbz to get past 105 kmph... If you got 125, thats great!

the mpfi esteem does 159 true speed in 3rd gear acoording to autocar.

so the MPFI esteem reaches 160 in third gear and doesn;t budge much in the 4th and 5th gear.....

Definately looses all steam in 5th gear.....4th gear isn't that strong either....

well ive whacked 146 on my mpi esteem,could hav gone for more but didnt want to,yes i agree the gearing is really tall,lik 110 on 2nd gear,but please remember 5th gear is an overdrive i.e for crusing not really to be used for overtaking as such,though tat also is possible,so dont expect much pep from 5th cog, im not sure about the top whack but i feel a stock mpi esteem shud touch 162-165 odd not sure about this also.

All these speeds were achieved by me on Delhi-Agra or Delhi-Chandigarh highways ... ! These highways have recently been renovated to international standards. Delhi-Jaipur highway is also a dream ... but on that, I just managed 110+ kmph in an old M800 ... !!!

90+ kmph on my Chetak ... as per speedo only ... & that too when it was just 1 yr old ... now it is 9 grand yrs 'young' ... !!!!!!!
67 kmph (exact) on my 18-geared 'Shimano' bicycle ... while coming down of a flyover ... hee hee ... that was about 10 yrs back... that cycle had 18 gears, front shockers, a sexy-looking headlight & a cool horn (dynamo operated) and a digital-speedometer (as in exer-cycles)... !!

On any Esteem ... ANY ... u can't take it to 160kmph in THIRD gear ... !! It will reach to a max of about 140 kmph in third gear ... ! And to attain top whack of 165+ kmph, you have to engage the FOURTH gear, no arguments over this ...! And if "THAT scaryskull's ESTEEM" has something special... then it will go for another 25-30 kmph over that 160kmph of 3 gear ... ! Try it ...!!
5th gear is of no use when you are extracting max power out of engine ... ! It is basically for cruising only ... Any doubts ... you can ask me to clarify ... !!
