No bro no welding nothing. He has removed that part and now am waiting for the part to be sent to me from delhi where a fellow member has agreed to courier the part..
As for the service center, its not just a Normal street service one. I mentioned it earlier. But the guy back stabbed me by hiding this so I ditched him.

Dipankar babu: Much as I sympathize with you, I find your logic of equating the longevity of your 'passion for riding' to that of the state of a machine you have owned somewhat skewed. The very fact that you could afford a motorcycle that was one of the best available and could enjoy it for so long is a direct result of the commerce dominated world that has stabbed you now Some two and a half decades ago, however qualified and capable I was, I could barely think of buying and using something like this on the 'pittance' we used to get as salaries. Commerce brings in a revolution and now, probably everyone in your sight-lines around your desk at office can get himself a P220 at a days' notice. No grudge from my end here - I did more miles then on that 'pittance' than most do now with pay-packets in good six figures. Just a recognition that change at this level is universal and not selective.

Commerce is beautiful as long as you have the resources it can suck on. Lack them and commerce bites. The ASC and the parent company up the hierarchy doesn't think it commercially viable to maintain a parts inventory, a trained man and proper equipment just for a few 'stray' bikes that come over for service. Ethically wrong - yes. Commercially - you know it by now.

Commerce gets you face to face with hard stuff - the facts or the 'reality' as we like to call it. Your dejection can be justified as a passing dark cloud but if you let it be a catastrophe and sacrifice motorcycling itself on this altar of self pity, then you have succumbed to the odds. Your lamenting and cursing will not change the world around you. I never does even when some dies. And this is just a machine.

In fact I couldn't help but post a new article in the Hard Torque section that relates directly with the issue you have raised. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/hard-tor...tml#post968305

Chuck that Fi, get a carb and go hit the road the way you always have. And meanwhile, get yourself to learn something about the innards of your machine. Chota Dara to Kaza - some 6-7 hours for a tourer - you will not find any mechanic - Fi trained or not! Need I say more?
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...

get RE as no matter what I think & what others say, RE seems to be the only bike which stood the test of time. They seems to be doing right things at the moment but then again, if I get tempted to go with an Fi model then it may again be my cause of pain down the years if RE decides to follow Bajaj's step. You can see my state of mind as I was never a big fan of RE but some facts are hard to digest.

Why it hurts the most is my bike was running absolutely fine before 9:00 AM, 13th July 2013 (now, I see... I chose a very wrong date!!) after which it has been dealt a severe blow. Anyway, I am suppose to do trip to Dharamsala in Aug. Lot many things going on my mind. Will keep you guys posted.

I don't have money to buy a machine at the moment though I started taking the initiative for a D390 but my experience with Bagga & Bajaj has put a very sour/bitter taste in my mouth. I absolutely don't want to see their faces as I would be overrun by emotions & do something stupid. Hell lot of thoughts going on in my mind. Whoa whoa man... You are post trauma right now. Do not make any decisions right now. Dont even think about the enfield if cant handle problems from a bajaj.. Please, take some time and think about it.

                  So guys.. appreciate your responses.
As they say, "First love is always etched in the memory" here is a little update on this.

I wrote a mail to Bajaj "appreciating" their Incompetent Professional Attitude & the link of my thread on XBHP. It seems that to avoid some unwanted negative publicity they forwarded the mail to Bagga SVC. The manager, Bijender called me. The first update is that they are going to get a Diagnostic tool. Secondly I explained to him why I was agitated that day. Also, to update you on Monday there was a very bad noise coming from the engine area. I asked a local mechanic just to listen to the sound & advice. He said the some problem with starter motor & will cost Rs1000 bucks (650 for a new set of starter plates). I called up another mechanic who was in Okhla PBK & explained him the problem. He has agreed to come to my place on Sunday as it's off for him & have a look & if possible, will get it rectified the "JUGAAD" way. This info was also shared with Bijender since I am not riding my bike with that weird noise coming. He has asked me to keep him updated.

Does this update brings a ray of hope? Yes
Does this mean I can blindly put my faith on PBK? Certainly not
Does it mean that I am inclining towards Bajaj Prodcust? Bajaj, absolutely no. I still sometime think of D390
Does it means that my journey hasn't stopped? Well, I sincerely want to continue my passion of riding. And that said, I sincerely want to cherish my old love, P220 as long as I can.

Can't make it to XBHP's 10th Anniv celebration which is a big blow as far as I am concerned. I have to get it checked this Sunday & prepare it in coming couple of weeks for the ultimate TEST ride of my old horse. A planned trip to Dharamsala in Aug. Wish me luck.

Let me know what DIY I should learn on an Fi bike.
Nice to hear this bro all the best. May that ride make you feel proud of your pulsar! Enjoy that moment
