  • Anyone taken/taking up Sun Certifications here?

    Hey Guys,

I just took up the Sun Certification for JAVA Version 5 (SCJP 5) and cleared it with a 82%. I am planning to take up the next level and need some guidance about the specialisation exams, namely SCJD and SCWCD.
I searched online and could find only scanty resources on SCJD. Plus it costs a whopping 575$(28750 if u have the dollar rate at 50Rs a dollar). So I need some details on both these exams and dumps for SCWCD 5.
Can any of you guys find out details about SCWCD and SCJD if any of your colleagues have/had taken it up?

P.S : My friends circle are full of Microsoft specialists and sadly no Sun. I also have some really good dumps for SCJP 5.

Thanks a lot Aryan. A certification is a certification, no matter what. Be it MS or ORACLE or SUN.

P.S: We JAVA guys tend to hate MS and .NET though!!

^^he he. I ask u guys for help and now u guys are asking me to help u.

Anyways, I booked it at NIIT man. Most NIITs are now PROMETRIC TESTING CENTRES. The assessment is an online one spanning for 210 minutes. There are 72 questions. U need to get 59% to clear the assessment (i.e) 43 questions right. The exam costs 6K or something. I booked it when SUN was giving it at an offer price of 4.5K.

As for study material, use the SCJP book by KATHY SIERRA and BERT BATES. There is also a book by an author named KHALID MUGHAL you can refer to. Practice the mock exams and exercises given at the end of every chapter and the book as a whole. That will do.

Also I got dumps from my friend. I did not take them seriously and just glanced through, but on seeing the questions in the exam I was just amazed. The same exact questions from the dump were available at the exam(even the spelling mistakes, beat that).
A friend of mine went through only the dumps and cleared the assessment with 92%.

Hope I have cleared ur doubts. If you have anything else, post it here. I will try to help you out.

@Mithun: Buddy, if u want I can email u the dumps. If u have the capability of mugging up just use them and the certification will be a cakewalk.

Congrats on ur certification brother... ! I have cleared the SCJP too with 84% and without any kind of dumps... purely with Kathy, bates and in 16 days of preperation... For people who are working on Java regularly - its not difficult for them. Also I have been planning for SCJD since sometime now... ehhh just planning

As for now, even I dont have much details... I will keep tracking this thread for inputs...

I got certified (SCJP 1.4) long way back in 2004. An overview is given for each next level certification. I guess, you already know it. If not then take a look here.

I will suggest you to go for other certification than SCJD. Probably, SCWCD or SCBCD.

Well guys, don't be amazed. Even I got 40% discount on exam fee.
So, I think discount offers are always there .

Simply, because SCWCD is good for industry. Its easier than SCJD in terms of time to get certified. SCJD is not an easy exam at all (like SCJP or SCWCD).

SCJD is for programming skill/experience. You must posses good knowledge of JDK over all.

Why do you want to go for next certification? Yrs. of experience?
