    Help needed in achieving my goal

    Hi all,
    Pilot,pilot,pilot.... This is my dream and this is what I think about everyday. The speed, acceleration and the sheer beauty of a plane taking off... Waa its truly an engineering marvel. Imagine flying one of those.
    So my aim was to go for pilot training once I finish my schooling. But somehow my parents forced me to do a degree before I join training. Main reason " what will you put after your name in your wedding invitation?? " I just can't argue after this.
    So fast forward and now after lots of trouble in clearing papers (sometimes thinking what the hell are you doing here??) in engineering, gonna finish my 3rd year without arrears Now its high time to plan to achieve my goal "Pilot"

    So coming to point, I need some info on best training institutes in India and how should I be prepared to get into it. I know I can Google these, but nothing can match the advice fron experts.
    My main reason for asking here in xbhp is I read someone saying hes a pilot and now I cant find him and I believe you people can help me

    I remember a friend of mine who couldn't make up his mind whether he wanted to become a pilot or an underwear model. He got a bit of both as he became a flight steward!!!!

      Me too in confusion about merchant navy or nything else final year chemistry mein hoon and solid confusion....
      Don't mean to hijack your thread...but similar situation for me..

        Decide what kind of pilot you want to become, a commercial pilot or do you want to fly for the military.!

        In-case if you are wondering is there any difference, i must say, they are different, and your qualifications matter a lot.!

        So once you have figured what you want, let us know.!

          Cpl dude. I need to get commercial pilot licence. And yea I know the difference. Its supersonic dogfights vs subsonic gliding. The former requires extreme physical and mental training. Later needs some learning and 200hrs of experience which I get in training. Just an overview, not telling all the difference

            Maybe you can join the military to get pilot training and later when you get discharged you can fly as a commercial pilot. Me too wanted to be a pilot but due to some reasons, I had to study different course and now I can only fly in my dreams. Don't waste your time, just do what your heart wants. Trust me, you don't wanna be a bitter old man with regrets.

              I think that is a wrong idea sir
              defence life is totally different, recruits cannot and should not have this attitude that I will train with military for free and then become a commercial pilot...
              Their standards are stringent and will be different to cope up...
              They dont want officers who will be not confident of executing orders when required..
              Clearing SSB is really tough....

                  Woo!! Thanks for waking up the thread Noone replied, I guess the pilots are flying
                  Btw coming to point, I love to join airforce and become jet pilot. But with my physic, I cannot join. Not so weak,but not as good to get into airforce so a bit easier way to satisfy my heart is geting CPL.

                  As of now flying jets and dogfighting in BATTLEFIELD 3... xD

                    I understand your situation bro, me too unfit for military service due to my hunchback. It hurts 24x7 but I maintain better fitness than others. You can do it too if you try hard but you'll still be limited by your disability. Just look at Oscar Pistorius nicknamed as Blade Runner, he has no legs but still a great sprinter, even he won 2011 World Championships in Athletics against able-bodied men but could not maintain a healthy relationship. He is now being charged with murder of his girlfriend. He used to be my motivation till he was charged with that heinous crime, I admit tears fell down my on my cheeks that day. Too much off-topic discussion, just want to tell that accept your weakness and be happy with whatever you can do. Be a commercial pilot and thrive on the sky like an eagle.

                    Sorry if I sound too pessimistic, I'm heartbroken today and really confused.
                    I am back!
