    UnderTheStars - India's first overnight sleep out event ...

    Hello folks,

    I know we are a biking forum, but we all do live in a society. And as a part of the "privileged" part of the society we should to extend a helping hand to help out the underprivileged.

    I am helping a few friends organize an event to raise awareness for homeless and destitute people. Its India's first overnight sleep out even, where basically people spend the night under the stars.

    There are quite a few events planned to make this an exciting event. Here's the website for the event - Under The Stars

    You can register and choose which NGO you would like to support, click on 'Participate' to register.

    All proceeds for this event are going to charity, all food stalls are going to donating a part of their income to the proceeds as well.

      Haha, I'm going to be homeless in a day or two, then I can participate in this event all day all night

      If you really want to help the underprivileged, help the disabled ones, not the homeless. I might anger other people by this but I know a lot of homeless people and most of them are homeless because they breed like crazy. Let me say this, there was a homeless guy in our village, lived as a plowman in a farmer's house, and ran away with a girl from our village. Found them out few years later, you won't believe, they had like 5 children and all of them were living in the streets. They are in much better condition now though.

      On the other hand, the disabled ones I know are suffering continuously since I met them for the first time, life is hard for them due to all the insults and other mistreatment they have to endure.

          C'mon folks, was hoping for a slightly warmer response. Its not THAT much moolah, a movie + dinner with your gf/bf is all that is being sacrificed :-)
