• An Insight on Inspiration

All of us have, at sometime or the other, in this journey we call life been inspired by someone. Often we remember but sometimes we forget, but inspired we are.

Reflecting on the 4 years or so that I’ve been on this Forum I realize that I have had the honor and good fortune to associate in one way the other with so many bikers who have been an inspiration to others around. It would be a gigantic task to list all of them but I need to mention a few at least who have really inspired us in their own special way.

The little list is in no particular order; they are all very special and unique.

@Sunny : The ‘motoGrapher’, the global face of xBhp .He founded and brought together this Forum of now over 50,000+ bikers. He not only rides the world over on some amazing super bikes but has put the xBhp footprint around the world. Yes, he Inspires.

@Old Fox : The “silent voice” of our Forum. The “wise one’ I call him. A passionate biker of many years who has done SPITI and the region so many times that it would be quite easy to lose count. Amazingly wise to the art of motorcycling. His insights are near legendary and his deep knowledge of this art is truly special. He has taught us all that biking is not only about passion but also about mastering the art, about focus and concentration and the techniques that go into making us all enjoy our rides safely. Yes he Inspires.

@sunilg : How do we start to describe him? A driving force of this Forum, he would happily climb a tree to click a great picture! (Trust me he has done that). Always the ‘involved’ guy at any event, for someone who has traversed the country so many times with so much passion, his simple byline reads : Been there, done that 3.25! That’s humility personified for you! He Inspires.

@phanikar : A compulsively passionate biker if ever there was one. Any excuse will do to hit the open road. Will ride around the country in any direction for the pure joy of riding. Blessed with a loving family who patiently allow him to wander away for days on end. Will take off on his trusted bike at the drop of a hat! His “Stories of the open road” reads like a biker’s fairy tale. He Inspires.

@Praful : Work constraints seem to have put a temporary leash on him! He loves to ride and riding will always be a dear passion with him. He once rode from Bangalore to Ooty just
to have lunch! Loves to ride and loves his food and the twain will always meet! That’s our Praful for you! "His Lone Wolf Rides" were really special and a true wanderer's dream! He Inspires

@Haroon : His website “rideforpassion.com” truly describes him. That’s exactly what he does. Accompanied by his supportive and adventurous wife he has literally traversed the continents, something most people only dream about, but he has the passion to make those dreams come true and live them! For him BMW could read” Biking Means the World!”Yes, he Inspires

@aargee : With close to 10,000 posts on the Forum, he is the ‘Wikipedia’ among us! He has an opinion on almost any biking related topic and will voice it too! You could ask him anything from route and road condition queries to technical matters and he will most likely have an answer. Sometimes wonder if we should open a “Ask Aargee” section here! Has logged some amazing long tours to his credit to all parts of the country. He Inspires.

@beruoist : How do we describe this true wanderer? Will do anything to go on a ride and has burnt more rubber across the country like few others have. He called himself a “Musafir” once which he truly is! He went on a short stint to Australia recently and ended up criss crossing the continent on two wheels to every one’s amazement. Maybe our cricket team could not but our Biru sure made the Aussies sit up and take notice. I once mentioned that if ever there was a chance to ride on the Moon, Biru would surely be the first in line! He Inspires.

@The Monk : He amazed us all by doing what seemed impossible, he rode a bicycle to SPITI! The courage, determination and strength of spirit he displayed by his feat will surely be very hard to match. You need to raise your bench mark to a totally different level to even try what he did! He Inspires

And lastly but surely not the least,

@hhsplendor : This young lad never ceases to amaze! Low key and understated, he makes his little 125cc Platina do all the talking. He would think nothing of pushing his Platina for 1,200 km a day and topping it by riding it with a pillion to Dhanushkodi! He has shown that “CC” is only a suffix, it’s “Will” that powers the ride! He Inspires.

There are so many more that have inspired us in so many ways. They have made this forum what it is—A True Biking Brotherhood.

    I salute you all
    Ride Safe Brothers!

    Wishes Approved

Indeed, it's people like this who always pump fresh blood into the veins of xBhp, absolutely indispensable.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Sir first of all thank you very much for these kind words.

Trust me I do not consider myself worthy enough to be called an 'inspiration' as there are so many people here on xBhp itself (some of them you already mentioned in your list) who have done things that I can only dream of achieving right now.

Please do not consider it as return of favor, but I do see you and mam as one of the inspirations, not just for myself but for others as well who are into long distance motorcycle riding. The energy and enthusiasm of yours is second to none. And the way mam shares the saddle with you, I am sure it leaves a lot of people jealous and praying for a life partner like her.

The other names I could think of right now are hisunil from Bangalore, ravi@17bhp (Ravi Verma), PSR sir, payeng, Jayamohn from Kerala xBhp, Jdan from Shillong, darkknight aka Nitin Manore from Mumbai, Biru from Pune... These are just some of people who made what xBhp is today.

sir! I wonder how I missed this thread. It is truly an honor to be mentioned thus by you. I stand humbled and yet feel proud to be held to such standards by someone like you. As an inspiration, we follow your lead. You and your wife are a riding couple that almost the entire xBhp community looks up to, your trip logs are read with interest and admiration and your opinions are valued immensely as they come tempered not just by the wisdom garnered through first-hand experience but also with a humility and friendliness that builds a bridge across ages spanning a generation. Thanks a million for the encouragement and then some more for being what you are.

ji? For me he is an inspiration, he has excellent knowledge about automobiles and he can give you information about the workings and design of smallest of the smallest part.

I don't know his xBhp ID, but another one who inspires me through his long rides on a Platina, which he refers to as "Planetina" is Dr. Subham Bairy.
