  • Books on Automobile Engineering

    Hi,

I am not sure if there is another thread where we discuss about books as i was unable to find one (i might have missed ).

I would like to buy a few books on automobile engineering, about engines and any such related books. Any advise, please let me know so that i can start hunting for it.

    Cheers,

    V

      1) Motogp Technology by Neil Spalding (Highly recommended for Motogp afficionados)
2)Motorcycle Dynamics and Design by Gaetocco (Brillaint book with simple explanations about motorcycle behaviour and handling)
3)Motorcycle Dynamics by Vittore Cossalter ( A detailed book of motocycle terminology, design and behaviour)

Book Name: Automobile Engg Vol. 1 and 2
            Publisher: Standard Publishers Distributors
            Standard Publishers Distributors Exporters

Old editions listed on site, though not much would've changed. General books on auto engg to get basics.

Has anybody actually spent time reading through Dr. Kirpals books entirely?

I for one tried, but its way too drab and most topics are just skittered upon. Helps to get the basics right and just ends there.

              I'd suggest

Car Bibles : The Car Suspension Bible page 1 of 2

Car Bibles: Motorbike suspension types and how they work.

to get to know suspension better.

I'd also suggest Tony Foale's Motorcycle Handling and Chassis Design for everything technical about bikes.

Let's see if there are any links floating around for the book, or you can buy the book if you can afford it, here.
