Dont worry Ricci bro... as they say, without failure, how can one appreciate success? Its all about getting the right break... Once that initial hurdle is passed, its all good... Hang in there

Dont loose on patience happens with all the freshers.
Ricci - I must say you still havent lost anything but its just that a strike which lets us go further in life.
At times one needs to stay patient for long times before one really gets going in life.

awright guys ....I'm in the working class since a week ago . at Zensar , not a dev job but a support one , dev scene not in good form looks like but support scene seems bright as of now but eventually hope to use my grey matter in dev work .

Have to be wary as of now , can't be online too often as bnet in office not available and have to sleep earlier , get up earlier too ...and with my academic background being a post-Indian monsoon road , have to work at it , got to prove to myself I'm as good as I like to think I am too .
And now to think of how to manage the income ...any ideas ? Maybe I oughtta drink to that ....but do I drink to remember or do I drink to forget ?

Thanks for listenting to my rants .....

                  Dear Ricci,

I dunno how i missed this thread. I myself have wasted months (nearly a year) sitting at home (that too not my home). I know how frustrating it is when someone asks what do u do? Esp after knowing that I'm an Engg grad.

I too wanted to be into S/W field. It took me three tries to get there (call centre and System admin were my two other jobs. I had experience of designing over 20 websites for different customers (and other apps too) but that experience was not considered.

It takes a lot of patience buddy, lots of it. Infact what you are doing now was one of the approaches i was thinking of. Keep trying.

And one more VERY important thing.. Don't be a Jack of all trades and Master of none.. that in a way reflects indecision/lack of commitment/confidence in one thing. Stick to a thing that interests you the most and do the best in it. Dont' try to go with the flow, "Everyone seems to be into java, so let me also do it", thats not the way to go. I'm in b'lore and have seen some things hence i speak from my experience (limited). I chose AS/400 (Mainframes/Midrange servers) as my platform. The reason was the apparent lack of ads in paper. Well thats because everyone wants to be into java/.net etc. etc... I'm glad i made a good decision. Since there are limited projects (even more limited ppl experience in it, i get paid more and i have more value (its more easier to replace a guy doing java as they are available in plenty).

Let me know if i can help in any way!! BOL...

                  Ciao

So far I haven't yet got the full on feel of the work here , but then like most people I'd rather be in dev than support . Still better than nthing though , I intend to use the dough for PG , if I can find the time to study though .

Mainframes wasn;t one of my favourites either , and I saw lots of ads for mainframe courses and placements but being expensive and no guarantee of placement ,I kept out of mainframes .

Java though everyone knows , is still in demand . Trying to fit in an uncommon field may net a good salary but numerically offeres are fewer .

Being at home w/ nothing to do sucks alright ,
At least now I can answer if anyone asks what do I do .....all the best .
