                • It was a long, lonely and sad ride from Bangalore to Mumbai for me. I was on the phone with Kriss on Thursday from the Mumbai airport as I was on my way to Bangalore to pick up my bike and ride back. We spoke for a good half-hour about the Busa. I had just told Kriss that I wanted to buy a Busa and we were talking about the bike and he was adamant that I should have one. We also made plans for a December ride to Tirupathi plus a track-day over a 4-day trip. He was to ride with his wife and Rossiter (Akhil) and I were to ride along. I was on the road-map to owning a Busa by then.

Then we got down to emailing each other and this is what he said...

                  GS,

Let me the first to congratulate you for the busa, Late decision, but a latest decision (rajani’s dialogue from padayappa).

So lets start planning for the December ride man. I’ll be in my home town from 25th to jan2nd. Would like to visit Chennai track, and the tirumala ghats for sure. Ghats were always on my list man.

Try pulling akhil to the track in dec. Would be fun. If not we two are enuff.

Lets stay in touch for this. Try blocking ur calendar on those dates the moment you read this.

BTW, when are we allowed on the track, is it on sat or sun ??

                  Thanks & Regards,

                  Ch. Krishna Chaitanya,

I got Akhil on board as well and Kriss was ecstatic. We were on the phone again to discuss details about the track. He wanted to take the Busa on the track and I was trying to tell him to ride my TZR instead. He sent this mail next:

You added masala to this plan by adding akhil to this!!!

Oye Akhil sir, Make some noise, so that we feel your presence here J

@gs: Yes tirupathi up and down is like crazy, I remember breaking(read it no scraping) my p150 classic left foot rest many times and a couple of times I fell down as well.

Your plan sounds fantastic. But on 25th I would be travelling all the way from Hyderabad to tirupathi, rougly some 8-10 hrs of journey. That depends on my pillion (Priyanka) on such a long trip.

Be it busa or MT or R1 on the ghats, it fun for sure. Its better to experience it, rather I say about it.

Cc’ing my personal id, sometimes my office mail blocks mails coming from personal mail id’s

                  Thanks & Regards,

That was the last communication I had with Kriss. On Saturday night I was with Akhil in Bangalore. We'd just come back from a ride on the MT01 and R1 and we got on the internet back home. I was browsing through pics of Kriss for some reason on his facebook account and I was telling Akhil how unusual it was for such a gentle voice to have such a "dada" body. I remember closing my laptop soon after and going to bed.

I woke up the next morning and left towards Mumbai. I had barely reached Rannebennur Ghar Dhaba for lunch when I saw a message from Akhil that read "Call immediately - urgent". I called him at 2:30pm and that was when he told me about Kriss. I was devastated...couldn't believe it...I told him it was probably a prank by some idiot but eventually the facts had to be faced.

The rest of my ride went by in a daze...I was heartbroken because I knew Kriss and I would have become very close once we got to meet each other...we had similar ideas, ambitions and a similar approach to life. It is unfair that I'll never get to meet him again and I still cannot bring myself to accept it. His number is in my phone and I can just imagine calling him and him picking up the line to talk...what else can happen?

I stopped to take some pictures of the sunset near Belgaum...this was around 5:45pm...but the real sun had set for me much earlier in the morning...

Kriss - I'll miss you as a fellow-rider, friend and brother...ride safe wherever you are...

                    • I don have words to say.
I Met him on Tuesday when he came to my home very early in the morning & had a talk again on friday on phone.
Called him at 8:13 on Sunday morning but he did not pick up the call.
Had he picked that call he might have atleast spoke for a min which might have saved his life.
When I called in the evening after I woke up his sister answered the call.
But I was thinking he was pulling my leg by changing his voice.
I was unable to understand due to the shock & asked her 3-4 times.

I know how particular he was about the safety & the Media Projecting the whole incident in a wrong way is totally not acceptable.
Every person should do their Job properly & just because its a Highend bike it does not mean the Guy rides the bike like crazy!!!
Please Stop Projecting bikers as the culprits.
Bikers most of the times are victims of the Mistakes of irresponsible Drivers on the road.

May Kriss's Soul Rest in Peace.
