me too was looking for my 2nd camera after i lost the first one,.. and i suggest u to straight away buy the Canon Sx150is .. which i narrowed for myself after lot of R&D ..
i wanted a good camera which help me to move to DSLR's and as this camera has lot of manual controls as same with DSLR and is well within budget [around 10K] .. and moreover it had good reviews.
one more + point in canon is u can hack the camera with CHDK mods .. which gives lot of near DSLR capabilities

Hey guys, i looking forward to buy a dslr camera ... can anyone suggest me something, i am looking at canon 1100d. anyone one know how is the battery life & photo clarity of canon 1100 d? where should i get this camera in reasonable rate in Mumbai???

thanks buddy, but do u no about the Canon1100D picture quality & battery life?
any other opinion in DSLR range is till 30K.

Hi Durvesh. Canon 1100D is an Entry Level DSLR. Picture Quality as compared to Normal Cameras will always be great.

You can also look at Canon 550D. It is going for around 33K on ebay. Its an upper level Entry DSLR and has a lot of features which 11ooD does not have.

As a camera 1100D should also be good enough.

Check out sony DSLR-A290.

This kit has 2 lenses - 18-55 & 55-200 for Rs. 26,000.

I don't know if quality is equal or better than Canon or Nikon. But price seems attractive.

hey i was finding on E bay about the Camera Canon 550D @ 33K, but there is not available Canon 550D @33K. so I am confused between Canon 550D With 18-55 lens or Canon 1100d With twin lens set 18-55, 55-250.

I am very new in photography. Previously used Nikon LS21, until I dropped it in sea and the circuits got rusted. Got it fixed, but still had issues in nearly everything. I got a used Canon 350D DSLR with 18-55 lens + 5'5 Tripod for 5700rs. The camera body is very good. Clicked some pics and they are really coming great!

Question 1. Was the price good enough for a camera released in 2003? It was although bought in 2008.

Question 2. It is 8 megapixel. Is that enough for a newbie to learn photography?

Question 3. How exactly and when to use the tripod?

Question 4: I love Macro, Wide angle landscape shots mostly. Is 18-55 lens good enough for my uses currently? How much would be the new lens costing? Am bit tight on budget atm.
