Sad state of affairs.. People have just stopped caring.
Another incident happened with me a week back. I found a stray dog near my apartments, he was probably in a coma. he could move his feet and tail slightly and nothing else. A vet passed by and on asking his help said that he cant help, it will die. And soon the municipalty people came to dump the still alive dog in the garbage. me and some friends stopped them, we called CUPA who understandably didn't have any ambulances free. we called ARF, and they said they'll send someone in 2 DAYS!!!
After assuring the guy for aver half an hour that we'll pay him for everything, he agreed, but sadly at that moment i saw the poor stray take his last breath..
And in my opinion Meneka Gandhi, doesn't care. Its all a big show. Wish i was there to come with you guys.

very sad news indeed! we humans have become some kinda devil by considering us as the superior and rest everything as aliens and unwanted! for god sakes its other's world to.. they have every right to be where they are just as we do! killing rats, snakes, beating up dogs, phew!

and finally one place where they can find peace is like this! we have to do something about this.. cant let those irresponsible people get away with this!

Atul, great thing you did mate, really appreciate it We are with you.. like winzee said we will get together and do something.

Let us know how we can help and we will be there!

@Shivanshu: lol, great thing you did mate..
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Im sorry to say this, but this is India...people in this country barely even care for other humans let alone animals or other creatures. When there are 1 billion + people around, who is going to look after the beautiful animals that are all around us. This sort of thing really gets on my nerve because i have a beautiful pet jack russel terrier back home in America that i love dearly. It hurts me to see any dog or cat or pet treated this way. Most countries actually have legislation and laws banning cruel treatment against animals, see here: Cruelty to animals - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .

I truly believe Dogs are man's best friend. Now i know the street dogs around my locality freak me out, especially at night, but they are animals too and i wouldnt want any harm to come to them. But it would be nice if they could be quieter at night

            Absolutely DISGUSTING

Forget the dogs/cats/birds look at whats happening to fellow humans in our country a farmer commits suicide every 8 hrs in vidharba region most drink pesticide of monsanto(the same company that is responsible for converting Vidarba into the suicide belt of india), after drinking the pesticide it takes hours of excruciating pain before the farmer actually dies the whole village gathers around the poor farmer watching him die a gruesome death:

Why Prince Charles is right: we need GM free food and agriculture for food security - Telegraph

The other day concerned minister was saying to the media opposition to GM foods is not a set back its a sign to double up our efforts to convince the farmers the safety of GM foods.

We did not hear this "double up the effort" slogan when 200,000 farmers were dieing .

first off. post hijack alert. start a new thread for this.

Forget the dogs/cats/birds look at whats happening to fellow humans in our country
That's a really sadistic outlook man. I sympathize with you.

And yes farmer suicides is really serious issue as well. But that doesnt mean we "forget" our animal friends too.

I tried to do my part about thane spca and then posted up about it. I hope you are trying to do some fieldwork for these ill fated farmers and not just putting up links and sympathizing with them.

I respect the cause man. But your first sentence really pissed me off no end. No offense meant.

              Cheers

^^I was absolutely disgusted after seeing those pictures i could not help but draw the parallel (the plight of the farmers) thats it period. If my post looks like i was saying "Hey thousands of farmers are dying why care about the dogs" thats not what i meant...its the same indifference thats affecting both.I was not trying to hijack the thread either it was not my intention NEVER.I apologize as i have offended you.

Day before yesterday, one of my street dog was being beaten up by some a****** with hockey stick in evening, just because Kallu (street dog's name) had a fight with this guy's dog... I was shifting my room so when I saw this I whistled and Kallu came to me and so did other street dogs.... and when that man came towards the dog with the hockey in his hand, I just warned him. he left but after some time I again hear Kallu's screaming for help, this time I didnt say anything snatched his hockey and gave one shot on his legs and thats it...the guy strtd shouting like anything and people collected.... thanks to the stars that some people came and resolved the matter... the guy had his leg bleeding.

I cant understand why are some people so cruel to animals, whereas animals are one living being which will shower you with love, just for a pat on there head....though Kallu is fine now he got some injury in his back which was treated..... but whenever I come to office, I always worry for him
you did a good job by pasting that b****** and hey atul i found out the contact info of PETA
