instead of doing all this, can't we simply switch on the headlight ??

and all the pics of your DRL's are clicked at night, i wonder if these small LED's will even be visible during day-time from a long distance, which is the basic idea of a DRL, thats why it is called a DAY-TIME running lights.

no-offense bro, but i don't think this will do the basic function, it is meant to do.

but according to me Dont install that round LED ring on your bike if u dont have DC conversition.
The ring blow up LED at high rpm.
It is fixed on your headlight bulb surface.
I install 2 times for my bike n m fast rider at night also so ring get fused in single week.
It is juz waste of money.
It cost 60rs for each ring in mumbai.
Here is my LED ring fitted headlight with DRL pilot (position) lamp.
Infact i removed the ring from around the headlight - not because it got fused, but the ring melted due to the heat from the headlamp , but it looked good until that day.
Your setup looks good, but dont know why it got fused. I used to run it off the battery throught the ignition switch, so no question of AC being supplied.

The Daytime Running light takes lot of juice form the battery.
It will effect Battery charging. Will have self start problems.
I would suggest minimum number of LEDs
Well, LEDs do not take up too much current, so it wont effect the battery much. Also i have installed a 12V 7AH battery, so have extra juice for all these contraptions
There were absolutely no starting problems, nor battery charging issues.
      Thanks for liking the DIY

I agree to what you say, but it was out of sheer interest to do something with led strips i constructed the DIY. Well yes they were "kind of" visible at daytime, not like the ones on Audis and BMWs.
More than DRLs they added the oomph to the vehicle at dusk and night

And by the way now i have the DUKE, so the poor DRLs and led strips are lying idle, though i take it out for a ride after i get home.
