  • Crappy camera and phone mount

August 2012, when I bought my first bike, also the same time I joined xbhp, but got a hell lot busy since then, so this my first post.
Soon after taking bike, got an invitation to go on Skandagiri Trek (Near Nandi Hills, Bangalore). The plan was to meet near NCBS, Yelahanka. Since I was new to Bangalore, I decided to follow GPS. It took me 2.5 hrs to travel 30 mins distance. Check the map for direction, ride, stop, check again... oh crap, wrong way. So by the time I reached there phone's battery was half exhausted.

Above incident inspired me to do some Jugaad for a camera/ phone mount and also put a charging station.

I bought the following items from ebay.
    1. Mobile mount for car
    2. Spider podium
    3. Charging system

Made the following fixture for using the car mount.

Hope the pic is clear enough, taken from phone.

I din't find the plastic clamps with plastic gear reliable enough, got rid of them, replaced them with the spider thingy.

Used the same mount to fix it on helmet (never tried though, needed bigger grips) and on the leg guard (tried, mounted a cam, recorded during the Yelagiri descent)

Had no problems since then. Planning to make a special fixture, anti vibration kind .
