Hai all

It was unfortunate when a grandpa hit my FZ-S in the rear mud guard and it broke. Felt sorry for the grandpa as he could not stop his M80 and had to bang my bike.

Anyway I decided to change the rear mud guard. Since my FZ-S is the first generation model, the mudguard design is slightly different from the newer models. The newer model mudguard is a perfect fit and seems to be more effective in its job than the predecessor.

Things required
1. Rear mud guard
2. Rear mud guard flap
3. 10.00 mm spanner/socket
4. 12.00 mm spanner/socket
5. 8.00 mm spanner/socket
6. 6 self tapping screws (to attach the rear mud guard flap.)
7. 5.00 mm allen key
8. Star screw driver

Step one
Remove the seat


Step two

Remove the side panel cover using a 5.00mm allen key and star screw driver

Step three

Remove the 10.00 bolt using the socket


Step four

Remove the 12.00mm bolts using the sockets



Step five
Remove the screw using a star screw driver.


Step six

Remove the hand guard assembly

Step seven

Remove all the electrical connections and the seat lock connection.


Step eight
Remove the 10.00 bolt using the socket.


Step Nine

Remove the 10.00 bolt using the socket.

Step ten

Remove the saree guard.


Step eleven
Remove the mud guard


Step twelve

Remove the rear number plate, indicator, tail lamp, tail reflector and assemble the same in the new mud guard and assemble all in the same way we have removed them.

The final result
