    Quick action throttle mod

Quick action throttle: increase the radius of cable housing to get a shorter stroke from 0-WOT.
In turn increase sensitivity of throttle.

Thought of sharing this mod. Just a temporary mod, i think the cable might brake at the junction in the long run.

    Required:
    1. screwdriver set to remove throttle
    2. axe
    3. pipe dia (anything >2.5cm will work fine) and thickness~3mm
    4. file to smoothen edges
    5. super glue

Caution: wrong fitment of the modified throttle might lead to locking of throttle or breakage of cable during unexpected situations. Modify the throttle at your own risk, iwon't be responsible for any damages.

    Steps:

    1. Remove throttle from the housing carefully.

    2. Use a pipe with dia >2.5cm and thickness~2mm depending on your % throttle reduction
Cut it into 2 circular pieces of ~2-3 mm each. One piece should be cut ~1-2 mm which should fit inside existing cable groove.

    3. Cut the above circular pipe and smoothen the edges using a file.

    4. Take ~60% of the circular pipe cut piece circumference and paste them as shown below using superglue. Smaller thickness piece must go inside the groove. Remember to smoothen the ends of the plastic piece going inside the groove into a wedge shape so that it is gradual and doesnot break the cable.

    5. Finally fix the throttle into the housing and smoothen the edges lying on the faces so that the throttle is free to come back to its own position. This is very important .

    throttle reduction:
    initial groove radius(STOCK) : 1.7cm
    new groove rad: 1.9 cm
    =(1.9-1.7)/1.7~18% reduction
Above figures are approximate. Actual results may vary.

    Njoy the new throttle response

Just the mod I was looking for. Nice idea to increase the diameter by using a plastic layer or so.
Cheap effective and probably mush efficient.
I looked for daytona quick throttle everywhere, but couldn't find it. Yamaha guys said I will need to buy whole kit.

Thanks to you, I finally might have what I needed.

Re: Duke 390 QUICK ACTION THROTTLE

Finally had it done 2 days back, it works pretty fine on my one-five. Here is a pic. Now angle is near about 60 degrees. It required a very slight bit of more force to roll-on but is worth it.
