It is sad when your dear ones get hurt. Here I meant my CL350. It started raining cats and dogs for the first week of Dec 15. Thanks to all the good souls who came forward to helps us chennaites at the time of need. Well sorry for the OT but could not help mentioning it.

Anyway my baby had a nasty fall due to slippery mud being in the road. She could not hold here grounds and had to take a slide at 5 kms/h. The fall was very gentle but the handle bar took all the beating even though the crash bar was available. Now she sustained a bent handle bar. Thank God nothing happened to me as I was in full AGATT. So I had planned to change the handle bars. The procedure is as follows.

Tools required.

1. 17.00mm Spanner/socket
2. 14.00mm Open panner
3. 13.00 mm Spanner/socket
4. 10.00mm Spanner/socket
5. 8.00mm Spanner/socket
6. 6.00mm Allen key
7. Star screw driver
8. Oil dispensing can

Procedure:

1. Remove both the mirrors using a 14.00 mm open spanner.
2. Remove the bar end weight plastic cup (both sides).
3. Remove the Bar end weight (both sides) using a 6.00 mm allen key
4. Now to remove the left side handle bar grip. First insert a screw drive through the gap and then insert the oil dispensing can tip as shown in the photo. Then pump oil. Make sure you do not pump a lot of oil which can spill on the floor. Now the grip comes easily out. Warning: Wash the hand grip thoroughly with detergent to remove any trace of oil. If you assembly the grip with oil, then the grip will start to rotate and can be dangerous while riding.
5. Using the star screw driver remove the left switch assembly.
6. Disconnect the clutch cable from the both the ends. Now remove the electrical connection in the clutch handle and remove the clutch handle using a 10.00mm spanner/socket.
7. Remove the screws in the right switch assembly and carefully remove the accelerator cable from the right hand grip. Remove the right switch assembly and the right hand grip.
8. Remove the rear light switch connection from the front brake lever.
9. Remove the front brake lever using an 8.00mm spanner/socket.
10. Remove the nuts to release the handle bar using a 13.00 mm & 17.00 mm Spanner/socket. Remove the old handle bar.
11. Install the new handle and assemble everything the way we remove them.
