  • Low cost Painting for your motorcycle/car in Rs. 200

How to self paint car/bike for beginners. Basic guide. Does not involve double coating, applying clear/lacquer etc. Based on own experience. It may not be perfect but usable any day.

    1. Buy an aerosol spray worth Rs. 150 and sandpaper of 2 grades min, 100 grit and 500 grit. It will cost approx Rs. 30.

    3. Sand the area using coarse sand paper first (100 grit), clear all the debris and now use fine sand paper to remove the scratches caused by the coarse one (500 grit)

    3. If you cant remove the part, still no issues. But make sure to give extra care when sanding edges of the part where there is a high chance that you may scratch the part next to the part to be painted

    4. Cover all nearby areas where paint need not be covered using newspaper and cello tape. Also make sure that you wash the area once and dry it fully.

    5. Point the aerosol can 10-15cms apart the part and start painting in a linear pattern. Dont hold the can for long at a specific point or it may lead to paint bleeding.

    6. Allow it to dry for at least 4 hours on a sunny day.

    7. Fit back the part, enjoy

Nb: I have painted handrails and taillamp plastic housing of my gixxer in the similar way.

No part was removed while doing painting. Looks wonderful. Today had done it in my car's rvms. Part was removed before painting. Check attached pics to see the steps followed.

      Hey !
Is the paint durable, how long did it last and can you suggest some high temperature resistant paint that can be used on the exhaust.
      Thanks.

Can we paint old petrol tanks using this paint? I heard that it may come off if it comes in contact with Petrol but don't quote me on that. Also, what about primer and clear coat? Which ones do you recommend?
