  • Pulsar horn wire type

Hi, I have a pulsar 150cc bike 2007 model. I was studying its horn wiring, in order to do some DIY wiring (for a device I plan to install). The wire which goes to the horn from the underside of the fuel tank, is it a cable or wire?

If latter what is its diameter? I have noticed that if I give a signal to the (+ve) wire of the horn the BCU also turns on momentarily and does it normal sweep. It is similar to what happens when you turn the bike on using the key; the instrument console initially goes into a test where you can see the RPM needle sweep twice.

I feel this is bad since, I really want to send a pulsing signal here - not a continuous one. Hence the plan is to install high current diodes, so that current from my device doesn't flow into the already existing wire (+ve one) to the BCU. And the wire from the device is something I plan to install at the site where the +ve wire to the horn connects to the same (via the spade connector).

Further, I don't know how to make customized spade connectors. Here, as mentioned above, I need to incorporate the diodes, have it properly insulated, etc. These are not somethings that regular mechanics have. So what do I do?
