Aryan : Nice list but implemetation is going to be tough , I have observed that after this thread was posted today itself you can find many posts not adhering to the these standards.

Yes I agree , but when an organisation grows so does the management.Originally posted by Aryan View Post@Nikks: There is a limit to what a moderator/ administrator can do. Members, after all make up the MAJORITY of any forum.
Its all about monitoring and teaching users/members the correct way to particiapte in forums.Once most of the members are following the guidelines as suggested by you , monitoring will be very less.Someone has to take the onus of putting things on track 'now' so that these don't happen in the future.sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk

There is no way that can be done, although like a few members above have already said, perhaps, the said pointers can be implemented somehow in the registration process itself, so that the particular member who is registering gets to read and go through the pointers before actually starting to post.Originally posted by augusta View PostIs it possible that whenever a new member signs up,he is directly brought to this thread first?:)

Just like people accept the terms and conditions for registering without even reading it, they'll ignore this link or message and start posting.
It should come from inside when someone does something on the forum. All mods/system can do is keep the members reminding that there are certain best practices which should be followed. But still you can't assure one would follow it.

Jokes apart, I also feel that this should come up as a Welcome message as soon as a new member registers.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

some i could think of:
1. implement 'auto-merge' of consecutive posts. forum designer can make this work. so less preaching. thinkdigit has similar style/working as xBhp and has automerge.
2. you mentioned 'CAPS' but not bold. a fully bolded post is also not that great to read. this can be used in ICE cases only or my mods. (i have seen a guy going all bold on his posts couple of years back. wonder who??!!
... jokes apart, i have seen some posts in recent times too).
3. if you are giving infractions, then increasing it to 5-10 would be great. earlier it was 3 i guess. thats a quick exit for some!

I have broken rules number 1 & 2 in the past...
Anyways, I will 'tRy' to follow these rules, to the best extent remember-able.

Aryan Da,to be honest,we also do the same when we register some where!
I just visited Team-Bhp a couple of minutes back and on the head of every forum this is there and they do not allow anyone to post until they are thourough with what have to post and how do they have to post we can incluse this as in the Approval process, as soon as you approve an intro,Copy paste it there!

I think it is also necessary to mention that we are allowed upto 100 photographs/post. I know that most of us do not post so many photographs at one go. But I had trouble today posting the Lyon Motorcycle Stunt show thread since I had gone beyond the allotted number of photographs.
