i have used Studds Ninja & Vega Motocross helmet among these options..I liked wearing Vega motocross helmet more than Ninja as Ninja is very heavy n bigger in size than Vega motocross helmet but in terms of build quality, i had a bad crash wearing Ninja but it didn't break, only got few scratches & marks on it moreover once while construction work going on,whole ceiling fell over it n it still didn't break ..my Vega helmet got damaged recently as my friend used it to break all glasses of swift in a fight but that was a hard task & i can say that it has got a decent quality too..I'll go for Vega as in the end i liked it better n wore it till it was alive

hello guys i am looking for a full face helmet
i want to choose between vega off roader and ls2 base helmet and/also studds scorpion OR ANY OTHER GOOD BRAND HELMET WITHIN 2.5k
i want features like anti scratch and uv protection visor
wind noise should be reduced when cruising even at 110-120
comfortable and and the helmet should weigh less
how to check for original product?
        thanks

          Hi friends,

I own a Vega Boolean. I have been using it since Aug 2011. I chose the Boolean for a variety of reasons. First of all I prefer modular helmets despite it being not as safe as a full face helmet. Prior to Boolean I was using a local make modular helmet.

The best things I like about the Boolean: Perfect fit, good air circulation, good locking mechanism, one-hand operable mechanism, easy to remove and wear with eye glasses on.

Things I do not like: It is heavy, side panels break pretty easily, wind noise, locking mechanism can get jammed, costs more than what its worth, visors are difficult to clean.

I use a Studds chrome helmet and I find it good. The reason I bought it is when I bought the bike I didn't have a helmet and the near by shops had only Studds.
The greatest difficulty in buying a helmet for me is the size. My head is small so most of the helmets I tried were just wobbling on head.
The best fit I got was the Chrome. When I bought the visor was tinted as only it was available. Later changed to a clear visor.
The advantages I see in this helmet are
            Not expensive
The shell is not painted and the plastic is textured so no scratches or paint peeling off.

            Disadvantages I felt are
The chin area does not have sufficient padding.
Non removable liners (as it is an entry level helmet)

Now I am planning to buy a new one. I don't want to buy too expensive ones as I have the habit of dropping the helmet.
Please suggest me a good one!!

Among the Indian made ones, Studds is the best.

                  Re: Best Indian made Helmet

I have a Studds Scorpion in matt Black colour, as claimed by studds the helmet is in real export quality. Fit and finish is perfect, I got mercury tinted visor and later got a clear one too, Padding is sufficient all over. The airflow system is really helpful in scorching heat.

Have both Vega and Studds. But with God's Grace never had an accident while wearing helmet. All had taken place when they were off me. Ha ha ha. So can't tell that out of 2 which one i better.

I have Vega open face helmet, DOT certified, with which i met with an accident and my speed was around 80kmph. This helmet has saved my life, after i was out of bed for a week i saw there was a big scratch in the helmet. Dont remember this model, it is discontinued now.

                        Re: Best Indian made Helmet

Honestly speaking, I like SMK the most.

I hope you know SMK is actually a premium line of headgear by Studds, and when we say STUDDS we mean one of the most reliable helmet brands in India.

Most SMK helmets start from 4000 Rupees and go all the way to 10,000 Rupees. Almost all their designs are patented dual visor along with attractive graphics. Other features include lockable air-vents, comfortable padding, aerodynamical design and more. Their products are long-lasting, and they are, hands-down, one of the top helmet brands in India.

I suggest you read this article on 18 Best Helmets In India if you are seriously planning to buy one. The author has compiled the list really nicely.

Also, check for SMK Stellar. In 4000 Rupees it is a really nice product.
