As the subject goes, I'm planning to organize a session on First AId by professional who are certfied to perform First AID in case of a emergency before they are taken to hospital for further treatment. I felt this is very importnat and usefull certification that a Biker needs to have to deal with any kind of emergency during a group ride or solo ride. If many members are intrested in this we can plan to get this session organized.
I came across RLSS India(Rashtriya Life Saving Society )
The Rashtriya Life Saving Society (India) came into being on 2 August 1998 through an understanding signed between representatives of the Royal Life Saving Society (Commonwealth), the Royal Life Saving Society (Australia), the Indian Maritime Foundation and RLSS (I). It was at the time, Pune was experiencing deaths by drowning at regular intervals. RLSS (I) first learnt about lifesaving and then for the next two years set about showing people elements of "first aid" and "Lifesaving" and how simple skills acquired by people could equip them with the ability to save lives.
RLSS (I) is an NGO registered with the Commissioner of Charities and approved under section 80G by the Income Tax Commissioner. The Society has formulated its own priorities but continues to function under the advice and guidance of the International Life Saving Federation, the Royal Life Saving Society (Commonwealth), the Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia. The Rashtriya Life Saving Society (India) is headquartered at Pune, India.
Our major objective is community education to enhance "Safety" consciousness, as the Society is convinced that alleviating the need for a rescue is much greater than effecting one. Lifesavers make a crucial difference in bridging the gap between the victim and the emergency services.
The RLSS (I) through its volunteers motivates people, specially the young to learn skills to help a fellow being in distress. In the present environment that is full of violence and its constant threat these skills assume greater relevance now than ever before. We reach out to the people in schools and institutions to persuade them to learn life saving through our awareness and training capsules for students, corporate employees and the general public.
