  • Encountering trucks carrying extended cargo such as iron ropes.

I am a rider since 10 years and have done some decent long distance riding. Many a times i have encountered lorries (AL and TATA) carrying iron ropes (ropes generally used in pillar construction along with concrete which may be around 2.5 cm in dia) which are sharp and protrude well beyond the length of the lorry itself, posing a very serious threat to motorcyclists. the lorry driver will just tie a red knot at the end to signal the riders behind..

How to tackle and avoid such dangerous encounters which are unavoidable in Indian roads especially during night times. the iron ropes can simply rupture human flesh when one comes and rams in a considerable speed..

One of my known associate had died in such an encounter when he was on a long distance ride early in the morning to his home town in a suzuki samurai in 2002..

No major scope for discussion except...being careful and keeping your eyes on the road to avoid avoid many problems like this.
