This time I was not able to spend too much time with him due to my over busy schedule, also I wanted to see new Terminal so we decided to ditch CAB and go there on my Bike.
When we were about to enter Airport, I heard Aei motercycle from behind, thought that some guard wants to check papers/ticket I stopped my bike.
Instead of coming to me he simply signaled me to come. I went there and he said kaha jaa raha hai, bike allow nahi hai (Where are you going, Bikes are not allowed).
I was like
. Anyway I asked for the reason. continuing his second class treatment to me he said Yahi order hai (Its order).
I said ok , who gave you such orders can I speak to him.
He behaved as if I have asked for both of his kidneys and said (waha baithtey hai jaa ke mil le) (He sits at so and so place, you can go and meet him).
After talking a bit strongly and so many exchange of words he finally connected call to so called security incharge.
Mr Incharge also followed same league and said Its orders not to allow bikes at terminal and cut the phone.
We had no other option but to go on foot. When I offered to carry bag, father said that there is no need, as then we will have to leave bike here and that may attract additional challans.
So I just stood there helplessly, seeing my father carry his bag and walking 600 mts odd flyover to reach terminal
Its not that the bag was very heavy or he is too much old. But still it was my biggest failure as a son..
We all have faced this second class treatments at one point or another
Even if we leave big hotels/establishments as they are private properties and owner may allow/stop entry of vehicles of certain class.
But this incident is highly unacceptable. Airport is public property constructed from tax payed by you and me. So its totally illogical to stop someone without giving any valid reason just because he is travelling on a bike
So I just want to know that what I as a citizen of India and we as a community can do, so that next time I can drop my father right at the terminal with full dignity...
