Only the sound changes, nothing else happens. I've tried these experiments long back

@Joel: I'm amazed buddy, you're touching a Pulsar these days! Good to hear, will definitely give you a call once I have a second bike in my stable. Have to keep my primary mode of transport stock!

If it is possible to share on this thread, what all is possible with the older FI's? I'm interested in everything except the exhaust, unless you can build one that is not much louder than the stock one.

^I m more interested in the p220 F. The FI is far conservative and not a very friendly package to work with. Bajaj has done a good job with the 220F. The fI will also get a boost, but not too keen on working with it. An exhaust will do the job.
You cant get power with an exhaust thats silent, coz you cant work your way around to get more power by holding back the gases to damp it. My exhaust is indeed around 80-90db.

Praful, Joel's exhaust is indeed silent if u manage to keep filling it with Glass wool once a week! Else, be prepared to be stopped at every signal

The line in bold, I'm shocked... coming from you!

Anyways, let me first get another bike to do my daily duties. Shall definitely give you a call then. Hope that there is something for the FI's apart from the exhaust!

Cheers, Kudos for doing an absolutely FANTASTIC job man!

@Apar: On the ride with the Ducati's we had one R165 with Joel's exhaust. Amongst the 3 Duc's and 1 R1 we all could hear the R165 boy revving its nuts off. It must have been fun for the rider, not so much of those riding around him.

Am sure he meant only the engine!

During the recent trip, my bike was all silent till the midway point. It had been more than a month since I stuffed it with wool when I started. By then it had burnt thru all the wool and the return trip was with an empty unmuffled silencer pipe. My god, was it loud. My wife had a head ache by the time we reached home. Stuffed it with wool and it was back to its silent self throwing up flames and backfires on sudden decelerations! Am sure u can remember our Yelagiri trip as well.

In all this discussion.. I have learnt just one thing.. If you want a street legal bike which is faster than a stock R15/ P220.. get a CBR250R / Ninja 250R (My future strategy )

I would like to say something.
I have been using the Exhaust for over 10k kms and 6 months now and I am extremely happy about.
In the first week I burnt all the glasswool but then I got it refilled to the brim and have not had to refill since. The exhaust is quite silent when in lower revs with throttle not fully open. Once you open the throttle fully it starts to sound like a Conical Air Filter in the lower revs, but that's because of the bike being single cylinder but once you reach 4-5k rpm, there is NO exhaust made for the 220 which can rival the sound.
I would also like to inform everyone that I have NEVER been stopped for my exhaust, I have been stopped for other reasons, started the bike infront of the cops and then rode ahead.
You will not have a problem unless you are excessively revving the engine to catch attention, at that time you will definately catch the attention of the cops.

^^ I have no questions about the performance gain, Joel work is undoubtedly the best you can get in this country! Neither do I have any qualms about the legal aspect of the sound produced.

When one tends to ride 500-1000 kms in a day, a loud exhaust will lead to more fatigue for me personally. So I am looking at everything possible apart from the exhaust.

@Joel: Btw, even if the exhaust gains from a relatively quiet exhaust maybe minimal, the difference in performance just due to weight difference in the stock system and yours itself should damn good. The stock P220 is bloody heavy!

Well now while washing the bike, its easier for water to enter into the filter!

Well like I said earlier, you cant get performance with a super silent system. You have to just stuff good wool once every 6 months to a year.
