      • Yamaha-R1 or Honda-FireBlade

        Folks,
I'm looking to buy a SBK. I've closed my options on either Yamaha-R1 or Honda-Fireblade as Ducati is not affordable
Please suggest which one is good option. I'm based out of Pune & Delhi

        R1:
Favour: Nice Looks, Good exaust, lot of features on the front Panel LED display, Good Service network, Switch Throttle modes A & B (2010 version) like Hybusa
Issues: Wait until late-Jan or check on some 2nd hand 2008 model

        FireBlade:
Favour: Good Looks, C-ABS, HEDS, Turn indicator on the mirror
Issues: Honda Service Network, Some issues in the bike based on some review comments from FireBlake-Kolkatta, Exaust, no fendor on the back tyre, less features on the front panel

        Many Thanks in advance.
        Yash

Wait for R1 is not long. Jan-feb is not that far away.

And R1 has too many favorable points for you. Service support in different cities is also a big advantage.

The biggest advantage in fireblade is the C-ABS, which has saved my life/limb twice. So I swear by fireblade

              • ^ Most probably not. Since 2010 color schemes will be different.

If you have NO key and have HISS then this is the most economical solution. I spent weeks solving this issue for very close friend who as I stated lost his 1 and only key.

                    • Sorry to stem the flow of discussion...

This might get OT, but did'nt know where else to ask.... And this has been playing around in my mind a lot....

Which is the world's smallest inline 4 cylinder engine'd bike still in production? I do know of the CBR250r that holds the record, but its a great pity its discontinued.... Oh, what won't I give to have one in my garage...
                      You get the point?? :D

                      • @SVJ: The Honda Hornet 250, which is also out of production, unfortunately was also a 250cc four-cylinder machine.
                        :)

                        • yeah cbr250 was amazing
                          too bad it got disconnected
would have been better than the ninja250

Dunno man! It was doing pretty well... Get a load of youtube videos and check the bike out... Its red-lined at 18,000rpm!!!

Plus couple of bikes were de-restricted (Yeah, it was so fast, Japan placed a ban on the power they made [learner bike after all], so Honda had to restrict the bike... ) and revved all the way till 20,000 rpm! Thats as much as a MotoGP bike!!!

I still get goosebumps when I watch, then re-watch and then watch some more videos of that bike.... Any idea where I could get one...?

Approx 18k but you need to contact them to ask if they have for 03 954rr.
