The MT is pretty good too, not exactly the same category as the CB1000R but amazing fun. But seriously, you've got to see the Streetfighter, that takes naked sports to a completely different level.Originally posted by Aryan View PostI guess the primary reason behind people's fetish with fully-faired motorcycle has to do a lot with the movies and the general hear-say, if you know what I mean.
As for the CB 1000R, it is one of the best naked motorcycles that money can buy. ENOUGH power, good riding posture unlike the crouched position required on the fully-faired machines, and beautiful to look at too.
I doubt if anyone at xBhp owns the CB, I would also love to hear the hands-on review of that machine. It is one of my personal favourite bikes.

Totally agree! For some reason, I have NEVER liked Ducatis, but seeing the Street-Fighter has totally changed my opinion. The ONLY Duke that I LOVE is the Street-Fighter.Originally posted by Streetfighter View PostThe MT is pretty good too, not exactly the same category as the CB1000R but amazing fun. I think you're missing something; the entire range of Ducs is awesome. Italians know style. They may not be the best running but in the style department nothing else comes close.Originally posted by Aryan View PostTotally agree! I'd love to get a hypermotard, it would be the perfect urban assault vehicle but I'm afraid the resale would be rubbish. No one wants a whacky bike, everyone wants a crotch rocket. Then the Monster series, all awesome bikes.
The superbikes, they look so amazingly sexy in the flesh and then the SF, based on the 1098. Believe me; they will scare the living daylights out of you. They beg to be ridden hard and will reward you for it. They will not forgive mistakes easily and keep you grinning all they way from start to end. They're not for newbies and certainly not for the faint hearted. Uncivilized, raw and rough. If you want smooth and calm then look elsewhere.sigpic StreetFighter

I TD the ducati monster 1100 recently and I didn't like it too much, I mean it looked good, was comfortable, reasonably good handling but unexciting. just my personal opinion, maybe it grows upon you. how is the monster different to the 848 regarding engine characteristics, sound and power delivery considering both are L-twins. I know one is a naked and the other is a superbike.Last edited by anshuljain; 03-03-2010, 06:55 PM.

Having never ridden a monster I wouldn't be able to comment but the Superbikes are LC, 4 valve motors. Unlike the monsters, most of them are 2 valaves and don't come close to the SBKs in the power department, torque yes.Originally posted by anshuljain View PostI TD the ducati monster 1100 recently and I didn't like it too much, I mean it looked good, was comfortable, reasonably good handling but unexciting. just my personal opinion, maybe it grows upon you. how is the monster different to the 848 regarding engine characteristics, sound and power delivery considering both are L-twins. Hello everyone...I have seen lot of ppl writing about their experiences with Hayabusas nd R1s nd Firblades, but none about Honda CB1000r? Or did I miss some thread...
I haven't ridden any of the liter class bikes but I know one thing that CB1000r, the street edition, looks awesome nd as the reviews I have read on various sites, its one of the best street bikes one can get...have been looking for some thread which can give me a good insight on the bike, but found nothing...any reason as to why CB1000r is not so famous here?

Unfortunately the naked street bikes (CB1000r) do not suite the taste of many Indian SBK buyers in India.
May be because these bike do not carry that awe-factor in them and aren't that flashy as the faired ones.
There is also a general notion that naked street bikes are somewhat inferior to the faired ones which is just not true.
Sure they can't do blazing high speeds due to lack of fairing and different seating position but I feel these naked bikes are double the fun on the streets than the faired ones.
Low and mid range torque, their tendency of not heating too much even in bumper to bumper traffic, relaxed seating position, etc etc.....

I would love to see more street bikes on Indian roads than the faired ones...and what does one do with top speed of 300kmph in India...atleast the street bikes are better when it comes to regular riding, if wanna...Busa, R1, Fireblade, etc. do look good but I dont see many ppl using those as their regular bikes...moreover the heat n pollution here sure would makes it even more uncomfortable...just my point of view
If someone here own a CB1000r then I request them to do a write up on the same...

most of the people who buy a super/sports bike, buy it for one purpose, sunday rides
nothing more, nothing less, at this juncture the CB it seems feels left out by a hair's breadth
it looks killer, the performance on our roads is more than enough and the only negative i heard is wind blast and high-seating position(good on roads), nothing which a tiny screen can't help(for wind-blast), but surely won't be in the league of 1000RR's/ZX-10R's,

Ok, as I mentioned in another thread, to each his own.
