Kinda agree, high speed (200+) riding is uncomfortable and scary even; the SBKs win here but in every other department the nakeds make a lot more sense. And in the hands of good riders the nakeds are more than a match for the sbks (ridden by ordinary folk) on our sunday rides.Originally posted by sheelpriye View Postmost of the people who buy a super/sports bike, buy it for one purpose, sunday rides
nothing more, nothing less, at this juncture the CB it seems feels left out by a hair's breadth
it looks killer, the performance on our roads is more than enough and the only negative i heard is wind blast and high-seating position(good on roads), nothing which a tiny screen can't help(for wind-blast), but surely won't be in the league of 1000RR's/ZX-10R's,
We have 2 nakeds in our group, one is the cb and they keep up and even excel against some of the sbks on our sunday rides.sigpic StreetFighter

if you have a strong head and chestOriginally posted by harishsangwan View Post^^ Thats interesting to know...how does a nked bike cope with long drives? comfort and handling wise...not talking about 200+ speed here...
, going naked won't be a problem
track-riding--CB will play catch-up, but sunday rides, won't be much of a problem, rest SF and other who have a live-in
shall en-light more
one more thing i would do, if i buy a CB would be putting rear-sets(but that would be just me)
^^if you ever happen to crash a 998cc motorcycle, pray to be on CB or any naked for that matter

totally agree with sumit..nakeds are ideal for the riding conditions in our congested cities..Originally posted by sumit.pannalall View PostUnfortunately the naked street bikes (CB1000r) do not suite the taste of many Indian SBK buyers in India.
May be because these bike do not carry that awe-factor in them and aren't that flashy as the faired ones.
There is also a general notion that naked street bikes are somewhat inferior to the faired ones which is just not true.
Sure they can't do blazing high speeds due to lack of fairing and different seating position but I feel these naked bikes are double the fun on the streets than the faired ones.
Low and mid range torque, their tendency of not heating too much even in bumper to bumper traffic, relaxed seating position, etc etc.....
Faired SBKs heat up immensely in the bumper traffic and sitting as a pillion indeed becomes a pain since all the weight goes on the wrists(high sitting posture and frequent braking)...
Infact when I ride my R1 in traffic, its the wrist pains and the temp which drain me...Hammer the racetrack. Pace yourself on the street.

No doubt bout that at all. the r1 is a terrible bike to ride in traffic. very taxing on the wrists, palms , neck and not to mention your roasted nuts even after a short ride. I use my MT with such ease even through chaotic traffic , no heating problem and becuse of the seating position it doesn't take a toll on your body. Given a choice beween the CBR1000 & the CB1000r i would definetly choose the later simply because its more practical. The street bikes a bikes which you can use every day. Only problem is jerks who try can come close to you trying to check out bike risking a small nudge.Originally posted by strider View Posttotally agree with sumit..nakeds are ideal for the riding conditions in our congested cities..

Auto Mall Mumbai
The auto mall was very disappointing for bike and car lovers. People dont want to see the Passats and Civics by paying a ticket of 80 bucks!!! Even in SBK section there was only a 2010 CBR1000RR and a CB1000R thats it!!! No R1 no Harley and no DucatiOriginally posted by Bunny View PostIts the Mumbai Auto Mall - from 5-7th at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex
Even the girls around werent good
Only saviours were the Phantom, some vintage cars and the startling Merc SL63 AMG convertible
and ofcourse the 'stunting program' where the Stunt Mania folks tried to impress the otherwise-annoyed crowd. Javed did a good job.
To each his own karma!

Talking about Cb1000's speed, I remember in bike india, the 0-100 times of CB1000 was within .2 seconds of 1000RR...
That makes the naked bike one hell of a ride !
I think its not as famous as its faired sister because of dhoom, showoff, ultimate thrill, why should i have a naked where most do not, (one of the above factors)
May the torque be with you..
