As once suggested by akhil(rossiter) the best alternate for speed97 is shell super, which doesn't contain any additives.
Not sure but IOC Xtra Premium contains additives for more mileage etc... which might not do good for these high combustion engines in the long run.Last edited by TheRedPill; 03-10-2010, 09:54 PM.

IOC Xtra Premium is good for highway riding SBKs..Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

When you come to Bangalore, PM me. I'll direct you to the pumps. There are only about 3-4 spread across the city.Originally posted by rudra666 View Postwhich pupms is it available in b'lore?
@neilv: I simply use clean premium fuel (either Speed or Xtrapremium) on the R1, when am on a long tour.
@anuj sahu: Please type in normal English. SMS language is not tolerated on xBhp.

so speed or xtrapremium also works fine and doesn't kill the engine. a few other things i wanted to know-
1. can a person of height 5 feet 5 inch (me :P) ride a superbike? (i can somehow manage to touch my feet to the ground on my Pulsar 220. can i even dream of a sbk?)
2. why aren't there many Ducati owners? 1198 s looks killer. why isn't it as popular as R1 and CBR1000RR?
3. i read somewhere that a hayabusa is recommended over the R1 for a first time or inexperienced guy planning to buy a SBK. why is it so? or did i read it wrong?

Ducati is very much popular as R1 & CBR....but Ducati is much more expensive than R1 or CBR.Originally posted by neilv View Post2. why aren't there many Ducati owners? 1198 s looks killer. why isn't it as popular as R1 and CBR1000RR?

Yes but my order or preference is
Speed 97 > Shell Advance(or Shell Super) > IOC Xtra Premium
Please find the details below..Originally posted by rudra666 View Postwhich pupms is it available in b'lore?

Ducati is expensive and a newcomer in India.... and you dont see them much in Indian movies......
Yes, a busa is highly recommended over R1 for first timers as if you are not careful and quite often follow your heart than your head, R1 can and is quite able to kill you.May the torque be with you..
