+1000 to that. Make SBK training compulsory for bikes above 600 CC. Also riding gear mandatory for all two wheelers.

See the problem in India is that people are way too careless when it comes to responsibility. Those who can afford superbikes live in a pride of their own and consider others with smaller capacity bikes as dirt. True, the superbikes can leave the other bikes in the dust but owning a superbike doesn't give you the right to cause havoc and risk other people's lives.

The big question about any riding gear ads or articles shown in newspaper i have observed that the chest protector or guard is given least priority or not mentioned at all, Wondering whether this all riding gear manufacturers, media and bike manufacturers give very less priority or no priority to our chest and all vital organs.

Yes, again we dont have roads to rip at 200+ speeds so it should be made mandatory that there should be a criteria and license for SBK where a person has to go compulsory through those exams/tests and i hope that regulation should again not be corrupted practice.

My dear Friend, People will find loopholes in every process. Its always the individuals resposibility to bring in the desired changes.

+1 to that. Are only superbikers the only people who need special training. I dont think so. Instead of that the process of issuing licenses has to change. A superbiker riding sanely and a normal person speeding has different effects. Touching 100kmph is possible in 125+ cc bikes.
The mindset of people have to change. Until that.......

The way you think is funny. How many times(with your eyes) have you seen a super-bike create an Havoc in the streets? To create and risk other people's life, you dont need a SBK rider. I have seen people race with splendors chasing RX. It is not with SBKs or rich.. it is about people who ride it.

Leave alone separate license for SBK. Think about the general license given today. Is it enough for someone(even in 100ccs) to ride on the roads and traffic today? Just put a 8 and you are through. Last week I saw a lady in a small scooter suddenly started moving towards her right side. She crossed 3 lanes to come to right side of the road in less than 4 secs. No signal, no looking back. The road is a 6-lane road and was with very few vehicles. The car(which was not at so high speed) that came on the right lane lost control and scrapped the divider. What if there was an accident and that lady was hit? Who would be blamed here? Obviously the car driver. That lady even after that did not realize it was her mistake. that's the attitude of our people.

The entire licensing system has to be changed be it SBK or not. And all current riders should be asked to re-validate their license in a given time frame(say 2 years) using the new system. License cannot be given just by validating that you can put an 8 on your bike and a 10 mark test which is not effective. It also needs to make sure that everyone knows to ride safe and know what is right. They do it or not is different issue all-together.

I second the views of numerous people here that an effort to reform the entire licensing system per se would make make a remarkable improvement.

Today the two wheeler scene on the our roads clearly show a large chunk of people who can just balance and ride around in a open ground, not on roads.
Licenses are issued without bothering to educate about the rules and regulations.

We can definitely see a solution in bringing complete reforms to the licensing system in India.

No offense to anyone, but why are we talking about superbikes and superbikers as the problem. I have seen idiots who ride under 200CC engines in delhi trying to squeeze out the max speed while squeezing through minimum space and that too with pillions. Early morning 7AM outside my Ex Gurgaon office, there is long curved road. It had just finished raining and there was lot of loose tar on the curve due to pot holes. Any road user could see from about 200 meters that the road is not neat and clean for stable cornering. With any bike in perfect dry condition and perfect/smooth road tarring that curve can be carved at about 80kph. But this idot, with a pillion rider, in 'chappals' and no helmet thought he could take that turn at any speed. Even before he started approaching that corner I told my driver that he is going to crash. That's it ! Seconds later as soon as he approached the corner, still accelerating, on his pulsar his front end gave way and he fell. Both the guys kept sliding and ended up near the exit of the corner except that they were on the outer end of the road and under the bike. By the time we approached the corner (at a sane speed of 30) this guy kind of got up and I saw his torn trouser and shirt, ripped chappals, badly scratched bike, sadly scrapped skin and a big look of wonder on his face saying 'what the hell did i do wrong'. I said to myself, what a waste !

Moral: Change yourself. Racers are not born in a day. Every person is not a racer. Never take a risk with a pillion. Another person having a faster bike does not make you a 'Looser'. Calm yourself whenever someone is trying to push you to race. And finally, in an accident, think about the other person's safety and health instead of starting of a blame game.
