I have personally seen this happens multiple times and everytime i was soo furious that i actually taken a rock from the road and burst this persons windshield just because he wouldnt move and the road was nearly empty on the right side line and just because his huge car couldnt go because of a mere inch, he came outta the car yelling and cussing and me the way im took my helment off and start smacking him with it ( go vegas helmets go) and then grabed him by his coller put him into his car and explained him what he has just done, and he moved outta the lane and left right then and there..

When I was in US, if you didnt move outta the right lane if a ambulance if a cop saw you then it would be a thousand doller ticket, if the offense is repeated the 2nd time, it was 1 day jail and thousand doller ticket and 3rd time was a 1 year suspention on driving licencse and 1 week in jail and/or 10 thousand doller ticket.. somewhere along the lines..

It is a major offence stopping a ambulance because of traffic or any other issues, your playing with someone eles life.. so when you see a ambulance, dont do what i have done at times but atleast do your part to Help that ambulance get to where it needs to go because it's not just one person's life it's that person and their family's life you are playing with..

Help save a life, because someday their blessing will save yours. God sees that you tried..

I'll say it's be a criminal offense if a well educated person behaves like this, but it's equally bad when someone JUST watches the whole situation and don't try to put on his/her efforts to clear the traffic ahead of any emergency vehicle.

@ shadcool786: Good job friend... i think, everyone should do this. (keeping in mind that the vehicle's progress won't be affected due to the crowd gathered in such situations...)

@ aargee: I don't see any option to send any message to you. Would like to discuss this with you. May be you have taken me wrong. Neither do I support violence. But what will you suggest in such situation? Just to watch it happen? Or go and request those people who don't care for anyone's life? (If you do so, they'll start showing their attitude...) Or wait for the police or any other official to come and solve the issue... What when the time is simply slipping from the hands of affected person in ambulance?

Edit: Again, I do NOT support violence, but behaving according to/depending on the situation is what I suggest...

This is thanks to the law. The cops have to come and do a "panchanama" and verify the cause, who's fault etc. So they have to stay put exactly where and how the accident happened.

I once had an accident in Goa and made the mistake of moving my car to the side for the sake of other highway users who were jammed behind. That was used against me by the other party because "why would he move the car unless he was the one at fault", and the cops were ready to believe.

Rahul - There's no need to justify me; this forum doesn't compromise on safety forms the basis of any discussion. While a helmet is used for safety & I'm aware it can be used as weapon doesn't mean one can do so & its for one's own safety too.

Come think of it, if one is involved in an accident, they can only think about their loved ones & their rides/drives & they can seldom think about anything else. On such occasion how can we expect them to yield way (unless they're well experienced in accidents everytime, which also means, they're bad riders/drivers)

There's nothing wrong asking them to yield & move aside to pull up for their fights rather than smashing their wind shields. Do that once on a vehicle mounted with political flag & one's life is over!!! If they don't listen & start showing up attitude, time to gather public support to ask them from blocking the traffic. (Even otherwise, every passer by slow down their vehicle to watch the fight, so how does one handle that).

If you do not support violence, how's vandalism different? Let me tell you my friend, people are not the same, our friend was lucky enough that day for some reason. Let me tell you an incident that happened with a friend of mine.

These guys were on a Qualis a trip returning from Madurai towards Chennai a group of 8-9, all guys group on a high triple digit speeds; so there comes another guy driving another Qualis even aggressively. So our group got tempted & got into highway racing. Not long after this, the single handed guy took out a long knife (from the high speed vehicle) & warned them.

Point is, you never know what sort of person is the other guy until disaster strikes.

Boomshiva - perfect valid point; I'd thought over those lines long time. Best thing probably will be is to take pics from all angles & put the vehicles aside, if movable.

              ^^ true fact.
I know a case where a driver & an official of an ambulance was murdered. (pistol gun shots) Because they over took an indica & indigo who were racing.
Moral: stay away of violence, the guy next to you can be armed & dangerous.
Your weapon is your presence of mind & patience. If you encounter such a scenario then best bet is to back off.

violence has never solved anything, in alot of cases it has caused more problems..but sometimes people dont understand when they need to.. If India as Indians take care of each other then they wont need laws to help them do whats needed to be done.. Every day or every other day I see ambulance going left and right.. If we let them get the way what could go wrong we are all doing our part.. to help that ambulance go thru.. just do yours.. and then leave the rest to others..
