    About high lift cam shaft

Guys, i recently got my cam shaft changed and i switched to high lift cam shaft. I owe a FZ-S..I bought it from krp outlet in new delhi.and also got my bike rejetted along with K&n mod.
Overall the bike runs good with a few minor problems like starting and crackling sound from self. I have little low knowledge about engine so please suggest me what to do to get rid of this problem.
Also the bike developes a flat spot and hesitates to rev at higher rpm.
are these problems because of highlift cam shaft. or wrong timing or anything else?

Please guys do help me to get rid of problems.

Please also check the valve clearances. I had a lot of valve noise after about 10 mins of riding. Discussed it with Joel and it was suggested to recheck the valve clearances and adjust if required.

Its not a question of either this or either that, this question is for people who do not know what they want from their engine to ask. What you should ask is what do you want the engine to do. Be precise, eg: i want (tractability) a bump in the midrange, 4k~7k rpm, so that i can stay in taller gears longer with out stressing the engine OR I want a screamer, i dun care about the low end and mid end torque (<5k) to an extent but want tons of it as its peaks, so that i can accelerate out of corners faster.

Catch my drift? the more you elaborate on how you want your engine to run, the better picture of how its internals should be, imagine you can. (sorry am watching clone wars atm :P)

After you have found the answer(s) to that question(s) then you can ('can' assuming that you have the knowledge and capability to do it, m/c,tools,etc or you have someone who will do this for you.) decide on how to go about changing the design of your cams and heads, manufacturing/modifications is implied. Cams and heads are to be in conjunction for performance gains to be had.

Questions like what kind of piston crown, rocker, etc.. comes later and in case of street use/mild gain tune, sometimes unrequired.

As a great master one said. "much to learn you still have"

If you have done the above mentioned mods all together, then try going back to stock air filter setup along with stock size jets.

I do make camshafts. They are not re-grinds, but full grind from a cast core. Regrinds are usually base-circle grinds and they are not recommended.
It takes a lot of deisgn and make a cam. The parameters are very very extensive. Its also quite easy to mess up engine performance with a camshaft, if you dont know what u are doing with it.
Again, the most aggressive cam profile is not gonna help you make power.
Cam selection and grind values and cylinder head flow is the biggest mantra of a 4-stroke engine. Everything else comes after!
