I once bumped into a lady who jumped on the road, trying to cross it, but looking at the other side. I was at around 50-60 and saw her jump like 10-15 meters ahead. Managed to bring down the speeds to around 15-20 when i hit her. Bike fell down at the exact spot where it hit her, so she must've taken a toll All this happened in front of an RTO test ground and she was amongst the ones who had come for a DL test. Lucky for me, there was a huge queue for the DL test and all of them blamed the lady for her ignorant crossing. Also neither me, nor her had any injuries . Bike had a broken headlamp

No. this has its own category and its simply called 'Traffic Cops', stupidity goes without saying.

^^ That is the thing i hate the most about cops, here in pune not only will they come into your way but they wil also have their stick waving around them so that you dont try to go past them and escape.

I generally try to avoid having to stop when these cops try to stop me for random checks, but once when the cop stopped me the first thing he tried to do was grab my key From that very moment i lost all my cool, snapped his hand away from the key and went berserk on him.
The main inspector came there and asked what was going on, gave him my part of the story in a not so nice tone, and then he asked me to show him my license and documents!!!!
had a huge argument and completely refused to show him my license or documents, and asked him to give me a valid reason why he flagged me down out off all the other people who were also using the road. His reason : It is random checking.
I told him to prove to me and show me paperwork that he and his unit were stationed there to stop people and randomly check their documents. This was at a traffic signal and as per my knowledge cops are stationed there to control traffic and not cause them inconvenience!
GOt into quite a heated argument with him and he even threatened to seize my bike! that threat just sent me into war mode! called up my dad's lawyer and told him about the entire incident, he tried to calm me down and told me to just show him my license and smart card and get it over with but that wasnt sumthing i was gonna do.
Told the lawyer to apply his lawyer logic and set that cop straight! Handed the phone to the cop and made him talk to the lawyer.
Lawyer set him straight, and the cop asked me to go, but just to get him a little paranoid i went upto him and read the name on his badge and asked him what police station he was from.
And then got on the bike and left from there while giving him a mean look

@ revvhard bravo I think he got a bad dream by your look at him while leaving That is real stupid things by cops , for money they jump from nowhere & show there "DADAGIRI" on peoples , I hate the thing that they stole key & walk away making the victim to follow them & beg . Luckily i haven't get with them in any incident , but i remember the incident i seen before some years , cops stopped a man & stole his key & walked away , the man then parked his bike in middle of road blocking whole traffice & sitted on it , awesome scene it is all traffice jam , the cop run towards him & beg to go from there

            OT :
I read in some newspaper that the fine on spot for not having insurance is wrong , cause the man have to show insurance within 7 days once caught without as per the rule . Is there any thread on xbhp about traffice rules & fines & stupid behaviour by cops , if not anyone from senior members please make one as the threads from new guys takes atmost time to appear .

The incident with me happened at a traffic signal while i was patiently waiting for the light to turn green, cop walked from between other cars and bikes specifically to catch me!! That was the first thing that pissed me off!!! I was waiting right behind a big truck which was clearly overloaded, and should have been flagged down, but the cops see the guy on the motorcyle and all they hear is KACCHING!! Time to make some money!!

Generally cops are not allowed to stop any vehicle on the road just to check any sort of documents unless they have been stationed there for that purpose,
only time they can stop you is when you have committed any sort of offense .
I make it a point to first ask them why they have stopped me before even answering their question as to whether or not i have a license if they dont give me a proper reason or tell me its a random check then i go through the above procedure to what extent it is needed, sometime's when they realise that you are aware of the law and wont give in they let you go.
They can stop you incase of suspicion like if you look too underage to be on the road or if you look too elderly to be fit for driving or riding.
