  • Filter and oil change for Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark

My 9 month old TBTS is due to change for filter at the third service. I wanted to fit a K&N filter to my bike. The service station won't allow me if i ask them which one should i go for and the local mechnic is not aware of the K&N filter. In this case what should i do should i go for K&N filter or should i not, if yes then which filter model should i buy? will it be plug and play or will i need some tweaking. Also found that the Mobil 1 Racing 4T is a 15W50 API SL JASO MA type of engine oil that can be used in TBTS. Has anybody used this engine oil and should i go for it? again service station won't allow me if i ask them cause they have tie up with Motul and the local mechnic has tie up with castrol activ xtra 20W50

Please don't put K&N or any other airfilter on a Royal enfield...It wont do any justice to your bike...Royal enfield's are made to do just one thing and one thing only..... THUMP THUMP and THUMP...
If at all you want to get more sound and a very marginal performance increase, then go for a Goldstar Silencer..(known as goldie)..It will increase the thump and u can enjoy it more,,Ask your SVC guys about goldie ,im sure they will know about it and may even get it fixed....But pls dont go for any air Filter..

As far as the oil is concerned As long as the viscosity is in its range you can go for any oil,,,Use semi synthetic oils...its good for the engine..
If u can't explain it to a six year old; You don't understand it yourself!!
