  • Insurance for a relatively expensive bike

    Folks,

I am trying to get my head around owning a Ninja 650. Now, I need some information around insurance of the bike.

    Here are the questions:
    1. Which is the best company?
    2. The dealer already has a setup with some company, but is it a simple thing to change to a different insurer?
    3. How do I get a zero depreciation insurance on the bike? Also, what is the most comprehensive insurance available (if there are multiple types available)?

Please help as I need to close this in the next week or two.

    Thanks.

      1. In Gujarat, iffco-tokyo is the best bet.

      2. Yes,changing to another insurer is easy. Just that you have to discuss it with the insurance agent available at the showroom itself. If your desired insurance company isnt available in his list, you can kick HIM outta yours and get another agent―call justdial.

      3. You pay a premiun for the 0% depriciation policy over the regular. Details available with the agent. For my R15 it was Rs500 extra, for the Dzire diesel it was 5,000INR extra.

      4. Yes, a more complicated version is available. Here, you flex alot of clauses relating to vehicle's value, 3rd party insurance value, own damage coverage, driver insurance amount, passenger insurance amount, discount on premium, etc etc. Details with the agent.

      Good luck!

Thank you. I will talk to the insurer from the dealer or get a new one.
