  • Roads In India

All of us have been traveling on roads in various parts of India, and the conditions do not differ much. I am referring to road safety. I don't just mean bad drivers flashing lights all over, honking like fools, driving on the wrong side of the road and riding the tail of the person ahead of them, but also about the way our roads are managed. I am talking about differential speed limits. Cars 90KMPH, Trucks 40KMPH, Motorcycles 50KMPH. When will our authorities understand that we need to progress, I know our cars have taken a leap ahead in terms of development and the bulk of our trucks continue to be 40-50 year old under powered designs, but lets face it, regulations state 40Kmph on the highways, what good is a Volvo or a Mercedes truck which runs efficiently at say 70 when the law does not permit it to cross 40?

Other things that I would like to highlight is "designs built to fail" for example our express ways (case in point Delhi-Gurgaon). Where in the world do you have a 6-8 lane highway with flyovers on the main road at intersections? the fly overs are designed to reduce traffic signals not create them!

I hope this thread brings out more and improves awareness and hopefully our authorities wake up and get their act together!

    Thread Approved and Moved
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

What you have said is correct but bro i think people should learn the traffic
sense before this. Secondly, more the heavy vehicle less the speed limit. Also tryes are a big issue for our express ways (tyre bursts) causes accidents. Am not sure whether i am right or not, but just thought the above.Peace
