This is a thread, where we will, discuss what all modifications can be done to Pulsar-150.

Although there are lot of threads that discuss a lot of modifications about a lot of bikes, none discuss about P150.

and many a times i have thought and even discussed about this in help me section, but i think, we should discuss in a broad forum what all modifications can be done to a bike that is still used by masses.

i have even discussed it with joel, but it seems he doesn't have anything for P150.

basically i am expecting all those who have done some kind of real time modifications to pulsars to come forward and share the knowledge.

whatever modifications that increase the performance of the bike, can be discussed.

like bigger block, anything, FFE. lets start.

I dont have hands-on experience in modifying a Pulsar 150.But we do have a Pulsar 150 UG 4 or 4.5 at home which has the P200 like tank shrouds. Its provided to my dad at his office and he recently swapped it with a P180. Have to say the bike has evolved a lot and now its much refined. I can help you out with some quality aftermarket jobs done worldwide, especially in Philippines and Columbia (Will update the thread asap). Regarding bigger bore, there are no restriction you can rebore the current one itself, or resleeve it or buy the next CC, 180 or 200 etc. FFE is the best option I would say, along with an air intake modd with a bit of carb enriching should work brilliant producing 15-20% more power.

But the one question I have is, will your bike be able to handle the additional power coz power in the wrong hands will put you into trouble in seconds.

the easiest of all mods is to fit a K&N filter, and upjetting.

does somebody know what precise size is needed for upjetting.

somebody from xbhp also did a 150 to 220 mod. it is there in some thread. though we will discuss these type of serious mods later.

@harishk: thanks for the quick reply, can you tell the correct jet size for upjetting for use with a K& N.

and wrong hands means my hands (riders hands) or handling ability of bike.

Hey man,
Just saw this thread... I do have a query; if you do intend to upgrade or soup up from 150 - 220 won't that mean making a lot of changes with the engine i mean in lay man terms:

* Stronger crankshaft and conrods
* Stronger valves, rocker arms, springs
* You will have a change in stroke
* Changing the clutch assembly to handle the additional power
* May be a bigger carb: BS 29 with 125 main jet (Just a guess) etc.

If you are planning to upgrade yours by switching parts from existing Bajaj bikes i guess it should not cost much but if it does involve re-engineering or ordering stuff from tuners either from India or overseas then you will have to compare the overall cost plus current value of your bike in the market and then take a call if the project is worth going ahead. From a threads perspective please do share your thorough research, time, money and technicalities involved in making the changes so that whoever does intend to follow this path is well aware of the nature of complications.

Unless you are crazy like me then well you have thumbs up from my end .

Good to see this thread alive again.

no, i was not talking about cosmetic mods. i was discussing only performance mods.

and i found out that such extensive mods are not worth the time and money spent.

fact is that now a days, P150 is purely a commuter bike and not a biker's bike, so nobody is interested in P150 modifications. even i am planning to buy a 250 CC bike.

I have them both p150 n p220 although p220 isn't mine.
So I practice small DIY and MODS on p150.

Your friend would hate the day he gets pulled over by a cop. They would think he is riding an imported Honda in Pulsar 150's RC. Don't underestimate authority's stupidity, especially in India.

no, all the pulsars do not have same frame.

yes, 150 to 220 engine swap is the coolest one, but its not that easy. and time and money spent is not worth the mod, specially if you take maintenance cost and (un)reliability into consideration.

will work fine if you own a garage and this is your spare bike.
