I have been wondering that with the abysmal price of petrol these days, that whether I should get a fabricated diesel bullet, similar to the taurus model but for parts I am thinking of mounting a auto engine on it, keeping the transmission and gear box in original. I would be using a old bullet wreck so there is no cannibalization of a new bullet, but the question is that, assuming all is well and the vehicle is running, can be used on the roads of Bangalore?

Fabricating a diesel bullet, is the diesel bullets legal in Bangalore?
Hello,
I have been wondering that with the abysmal price of petrol these days, that whether I should get a fabricated diesel bullet, similar to the taurus model but for parts I am thinking of mounting a auto engine on it, keeping the transmission and gear box in original. I would be using a old bullet wreck so there is no cannibalization of a new bullet, but the question is that, assuming all is well and the vehicle is running, can be used on the roads of Bangalore?Tags: None

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

This would not be legal as you cannot get it endorsed by the RTO...this can be used in rural area's. check out for a greaves engine which can be mounted without any alteration as far as I know...if you happen to go to Erode (TN) you can see quite a lot of such RE's. most of it would be greaves engineNever Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

Oh wow, it has been a while since anyone posted in this thread, so I have dumped the idea of fabricating one, instead I am looking for a greaves pumpset one.

I recently bought one diesel enfield fitted with greaves powerplant for my friend for 55k from tirupur (TN) in a pretty descent condition. If you look at the costs of these bikes in metros they are absolutely high. Moreover I think endorsement of a diesel engine onto any enfield chasis is going to be a big trouble.Originally posted by Manan View PostOh wow, it has been a while since anyone posted in this thread, so I have dumped the idea of fabricating one, instead I am looking for a greaves pumpset one.

Best way would be find out a source in a relatively rural place and stsrt the hunt for a complete deisel bike rather than looking for just an engine.
If you want I can try speaking to my contact without being a middleman ;-)
