  • What a Bad experience

    Hi Guys let me share a story that really leaves a bad experience and which i wished i havent done it in the first place and after tons of attemp to establish contact with the guy i felt so cheated and never wanted to do this in the first place but here it goes. I wont be mentioning any names here and this thread is it to let fellow bikers learn from it and stay away from it. ill be calling him Mr X
    It all started in 27/03/2010 with a reputed tuner from bangalore i trusted him since he is also an engineer in one of the most prestigious racing team in INDIA. anyway here it goes
    With some introduction from a friend our negotiation started on building the fastest ever drag R15 huge load of money (lakhs of rupees) was transferred to bank accounts agreement were set to finish the projects in 3months time . Since I'm also running a small business he also offered me big bore kits which i took around 2lakh worth of goods. Then came the reality excuses were made after 2 months with stating races were holding him up from starting the project which i calmly understood since Mr X is a busy man with all the racing in chennai after tons of god know what excuses after much frustration and 11 long months and much demand he send me pictures on what seems to be the pictures of the bikes eventually on march 2011 i received the bike (that's after8 months delay) so with high hopes we took the bike to the abandoned airstrip to test it tested the bike did around 14highs-15lows sec on a quarter mile. HMMMM this is absolutely not worth it with the amount of money invested we were expecting 13-14secs.
    With the amount invested we were very disappointed so we decided to inspect what has been installed in the bike for us. Bike is light weighted of course with skinny aluminum rims and lots of weight reduction on the chassis. Anyway we found out it was an Indonesian bigbore 165cc (during negotiation it was a 200cc) big cam and stronger valve springs all from indonesia ECU tuned by Race dynamics with a stock injector not even a 12hole injector all these modification when calculated at that time costed Rs 40000/ so lakhs of rupees cheated.

    Race day came finally our team were doing great securing 1st and 2nd in open below 400cc class (1st RD 2nd RX135) but our long waited R15 couldn't even start and once it did start it seized so after a phone call with MR X he told us to send him the Block cylinder head and ecu and he would fix it for free so we send him all on end of March 2011.
    Now here is where all the fun begins after confirming he received the parts we send him he said it would take 4 months since he is very busy with his team so we said its ok so after 4 months i called him again which he answered 1 of 50 calls and said that it was all done and he had dispatched it. since we live at the end of India Mizoram to be specific it usually take 1month sometime 2months so after waiting and waiting still no courier guy showing up asked Mr X for the consignment no 4 time no reply from his end. (Damn Man he is such a big guy looking after one of the most prestigious racing team in India and still he turns out to be a liar and a cheat if he wanted my Block,head and ecu he should have asked which i would happily donate it to him.)

    any way i never give up but I'm in no position to fly to bangalore and loose 4working days just to see him since our place is a connecting flight through Kolkata. So i came up with an evil plan since he wont take my call i send him a threat stating im meeting my lawyer and we are filing a FIR which i never did but i did work he send me the block back (180cc big bore) on august 2012 whew a year has passed, but wait where is the cylinder head and ecu guess my prank never really worked or this guy team is so financially broke that they need their clients engine parts to run their team any ways I lost all respect for Mr X.
    Ohhh BTW i forgot to mention i tried meeting him up in june 2010 i told him im coming to Bangalore please make yourself free in 2 weeks advance but that day some how at the last minute before i reached his place he somehow has to go to a team meetting and had to wait for 7 hours.

    Should i be angry i don't know

    Guys please keep away from Mr X and if anybody want i will happily share all the emails we exchanged

        @tumbu : Very sorry about the loss incurred.

        If its possible, could you pls be more specific?

        Mention all the parts procured, what exactly happened to them? and pics if possible coz this would really guide rookies at XBHP to decide. I appreciate you have taken the responsibility to come back and report your experience, so pls do it more accurately. Many here would like to know about your mechanic's skill-set, climate, altitute etc etc... So pls make them clear before hand.

        Regarding the 165CC setup its short lived with a miserable life, the quality is way below average. So your experience is no surprise to me. The 12 hole injector is not required for 165CC setup, it is used for 200+ CC, I guess there is a 10 hole injector for 60MM/165CC setup and the biggest complexity is that Denso 12/10 Hole injector is an engineering marvel it has a variable FI operation system, which means the number of FI holes in operation varies as per the throttle position. In stock 6-hole FI all the six holes are operational all the time. The point is Mr X designs the ECU map for 6 hole injector as prescribed by Race Dynamics and if you plonk a 10/12 hole injector with a variable mechanism then the entire setup will go bonkers. I suggest you to contact a few experts here , I had a great struggle tuning my ECU with 10hole FI finally got assistance from a few tuners at Malaysia who use the FSR-Tech FCU to tune their ignition system, like wise you have to explore a little outside the pond to know the world.

        Regarding your parts being retained with the seller..... I would suggest you to make the statement very clear on this space once again and the seller should be responsible enough to provide an explanation and return them back to you. By the way who is Mr X?

            I think such 'mods' shouldn't be encouraged here on xbhp. (or have a separate thread named 'mods wrt racing..not for street use'). Well we all know who Mr.X is let us not feign ignorance.. and there have been quite a few people dissatisfied with their experience and lack of communication from Mr.X (even if the product had issues, it is the communication that can set right a lot of things which is lacking as reported by a number of users)..
            I had read somewhere on this forum that 'we do not promote any products/seller' etc.. kind of statements, but the fact is there are separate threads that are directly related to this Mr.X and his works + 'marketing'.

            IMO these radical mods are playing with the 'factor of safety/reliability' and thus causing issues on a number of bikes (maybe not all, but still claiming 'stock' reliability is BCrap!), and these are recommended even though the parts are 'labelled' "For track use only" (now how many ppl who buy these ever set their foot on a track?)
            And then coming to the legal issues.. i don't think increasing the capacity of a bike is legally allowed on street use (mayb apart from the minor increase during a rebore)

            Though the user in this case used it for track with a bad result, i suggest the threads be taken down and a new one started wrt to "Track performance mods".

            I have nothing personal against anyone and this is my opinion.. Feel free to correct me (i enjoy a good argument )

            And let me add another piece of information... plonking in such 'performance mods' will not be reliable for everyone for a very simple reason that not every bike that is going in for such mods is previously in good condition to take on such mods.(since most of these are shipped to users who just plonk them in without checking the condition of other area's of the engine)

                I know Race specs engine are the utmost unreliable engines and anything can happen i own a Drag spec RD which require change of clutch and pistons every 4 runs. High risk are take when the project was started elevation,temp etc were supplied This aint a street setup pure drag bike with skinny rims and aluminum chassis
                The whole Bike was with Mr X even before testing we checked the coolant,oils, all the nuts and bolts I ain't an average user we run one of the best team in Mizoram) since Mr X accomplished a great achievement we went ahead with the project and test how great a tuner he is everything went fine until the 2run (mind you we ran exactly 2 runs after receiving it pushing it back after the 400m run is completed) the problem was a seizure which was caused by a faulty head gasket and also found out the piston touched the valves calls were made this time he answered on the first ring WOWWWWWW!!!! Hats off told us he would replace FOC cool send it back to Mr X on may 2011 out of the blue received only the cylinder on august 2012 whewww.
                During this whole time conversation was tried to be established which out of 2/10 call were answered and 1/20 text replied during this period it seems the goods were dispatched over 4 times which was never did as each and every time i asked for a tracking no. which was never received. I can't blame him on the job done but i blame him for communication barrier.
                I am treated like ......... i'm your customer i can help you sell your goods which i even did damnnn am i so annoying to call you 1 a week which are unanswered i know Mr X is busy so i let i fly.

                Why i took so long for me to do this well i run a business and i know how a wrong thing can turn the whole business and leave a bad stomach ( ive been through it) I don't want it to happen to Mr X.
                But sometimes enough is enough. A simple conversation can break a misunderstanding but Mr X choose not to speak and think i'll let it fly by.

                Damn if he could have just told me the Truth instead of lies it dont matter Mr X don't answer my call Just tell me the Thruth not lies i'll wait for you.
                But Mr X lied too many times

                  what...another thread....and the world war-1 barely ended a month ago in another thread...

                  see, you can't have "world war-2" just a month after the first world war... ..specially when a lot of big countries are very reluctant to enter, so it will be a mudfest of kinda...or a one way tug of war between America and rest of enemies like iraq, vietnam, osama left over all combined, untill Mr. X becomes russia and drops a nuclear bomb, just once...

                  now don't kill me, but i am actually ROTFL...

                  now as much i doubt Mr. X, similar are my doubts on those who are unsatisfied (except a few), you can't even say his name publicly, then what is the point ...? and how to believe you are true..

                  anyway, i will just be observing...and that too for the sake of fun.

                            Well guys instead of posting new thread ill just continue here so with all my Bad experience I have a great news to share On the 24-27 of october 2012 in a drag race organized by MIMSA in mizoram a great thing happened. TVS factory racing in aid and hoping to promote their RTR 160 came along with 2 engineers and their rider Jagan to participate in our drag event bringing 5 engines which they proudly told us it was their group B engines. (damn they changed their oils after each and every run putting only 700ml in each run consuming a total of 48 brand new oils in the event whewww) any here here is the interesting part since Mr X greatly disappointed us we build our own engine.
                            Our very own 180cc Yamaha r15 carbureted version with the help of a local tuner we beat the TVS factory group B bike fair and square Yamaha YZF R15 VS Factory Apache 160 - YouTube oh man that was one of the most happiest day of my life by the way where'sJoel
