After surviving a horrific motorcycle crash in 2003, in which Talan Skeels-Piggins back was shattered in between his shoulder blades and his spine was severed. This courageous man took up skiing and participated in the Paralympics and represented his country for 7 years. He finally retired in 2010 due to multiple shoulder injuries.
After adapting a bike to his disability, he started his quest to relearn the art of biking. He now participates regularly in races in UK, where he is competitive and not just a grid filler.
He has started an organisation, Bike Experience, to help other disabled riders to get back onto their bikes. He was one of the torch bearers in the recent Olympics.
