Counter-steering query.
Hello guys. I'm a novice biker and am new to xBhp. I've been trying to fine tune my counter-steering skills as my commute to college involve decently sharp turns on the highway. I own a 2007 Super Splendor. I've been watching a lot of counter-steering videos lately and all of them stress on one fact 'Push left to go left, push right to go right'. I understood the Physics part of it. But I've never been able to actually apply it when I ride. Don't mean to sound stupid but, is the scope for counter-steering less on a Splendor or is it just me? -

Short answer: All 2-wheelers (including pedal powered bicycles) counter-steer. You need a bit of speed to truly understand whats happening. You won't understand what happened if you try to do it under 60kmph. The easiest way to see it happen is to hold the handlebar with the palm of your hand (pushing it from behind to keep your grip). At this stage, you can clearly see it happen. The bike turns left when you push the left handlebar ahead, ditto for right side. (see illustration)

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
