  • Need suggestions for swapping a Pulsar 180 engine on a Pulsar 150

I have a 10 year old Pulsar 150 BSIII UG3. I am 19 years old and not planning on getting a new bike for at least the next 2-3 years. One of the primary reasons why I ride revolves around the act of being engaged while doing something. Motorcycle riding, as we know, requires utmost concentration, focus and precision. It represents a symbolism of being able to live in the present moment, being in the NOW.

I've been riding the P150 for about 2 years, and I have loved every bit of it (apart from the times when I felt it was underpowered and needed a better chassis haha). For me, it is about how engaging the ride is, about how much effort and focus I put into the ride, and not necessarily about the power band only. This, what I believe, seems to fulfill me.

Apart from general maintenance of the bike so as to make the ride more engaging, is it advisable to swap the P150 engine for P180 bore kit? Also,

    (i) Is the aforementioned act feasible? What is the success rate?
(ii) What can be the estimated cost involved in installing the P180 engine kit? Does it exceed 8k?
(iii) With the new kit installed, can I expect a stronger power and torque surge?
(iv) Do K&N air filters along with Iridium spark plugs make a difference as well?
