  • Pulsar 150 restoration and conversion to 180

Hello everyone, need some modification advice for my pulsar 150 ug4 (2012) which has done over 173000 kms. The bike has started giving out white smoke and I am thinking of doing a complete engine overhaul which includes all the engine internals along with the electricals. So I was thinking that if I am changing all the parts of the engine then why not put the parts of the 180 ug3(for extra performance). Thought of 180 ug3 and not ug4 because the ug4 doesn't get a kick starter.

My doubts regarding this modification -

    1. Will the gearbox of 180 ug3 be a direct fit inside the 150 ug4 chamber?

    2. In case I don't find the 180 ug3 parts(being an old discontinued bike) and have to buy the 180 ug4 parts then do I have to use the camshaft of the 180 ug4 or the 180 ug3 camshaft which has a de-compressor will work fine with the 180 ug4 head?

    3. If the 150's camshaft is put instead of the 180's camshaft then will there be any dip in performance? (In case I don't find the 180 cam)

    4. Keeping in mind that the 150 and 180 have different gear ratios, if I don't get the 180 gearbox then by using the stock 150 gearbox paired with the 180 ug3 chain set, will I get any dip in performance?

    5. How good will the bike run if I swap only the head, block, crankshaft, carburettor, chainset and the CDI from the 180?
