What is Claw Shifted Transmission?
I came across this term while checking the specifications of Duke 200. I want to know what is the difference between a normal transmission and a claw shifted one. Can someone explain this pls? It would be of much help if you can also mention the pros and cons of the same.2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300Tags: None

Re: What is Claw Shifted Transmission?
Google Anna...
More here...In a shifting claw transmission for a motor vehicle including a main shaft and a countershaft and an electric motor for rotating the countershaft or being rotated thereby with freely rotatable gear wheels supported on the counter shaft and engageable with the countershaft by claw engagement structures, the speed of the countershaft is adjustable by the electric motor to be close to, but somewhat different from, the speed of the freely rotatable gear wheels to be engaged in order to facilitate shifting but avoid a tooth-on-tooth problem which would inhibit shifting

Re: What is Claw Shifted Transmission?
I did google(Went through the same patent page) but I'm not sure if I understood properly. From what I understand, a clawshifted transmisison will have an electric motor that drives the countershaft so as to synchronise it with the main shaft. So in a way it will avoid tooth on tooth problems. Will this in any way help the rider/driver? Smoother gear shifting? Prevent grinding of gears, etc?Originally posted by aargee View Post2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300
