On Road Price Fraud
Hi fellow bikers, my self MOHAMMED TANVEER RAZA, am an advocate, just finished my LL.b, all i want to discuss on this thread is how dealers are fooling innocent customers by adding hidden/fake and exorbitant in on-road price of vehicles. i my self ended up paying this type of charges twice when i bought my first bike apache RTR n pulsar 220 ( i was so much happy n excited while buying that i never saw what they charging, only later realized when they handed over me the tax challans of RTO to me). This time when i went to buy a scooty for my sister, they demanded for Rs.1500 additional as handling charges, when i told i don't want to buy scooter on, on-road price n am here to buy it on ex-showroom price, even when they refused to sell the scooter with out those charges, i already have mailed this to TVS officials today, all i want is by creating this thread, to bring awareness in people about, how they are fooled by this people (Dealers). Guys cm up with your thought over this TY.Tags: None

Re: On Road Price Fraud
Unless you're a close kith & kin of a dealer, it's close to impossible buying a vehicle at exshowroom price. Even if you save Rs 1500 at dealer, you'll have to pay more or less the same at driving school to get your vehicle registered at RTO, unless you're a close kith & kin of someone who's who at the registering RTOSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Plus, here's another perspective...
Let's say the dealer sells the bike at exshowroom price & hands over the bike to a customer (moron), here're some catches...
1. Per law, the vehicle has to be ridden up to a distance of 50 or 100 Km (not sure on the figure) a day; this is because to get the vehicle registered at RTO
2. Insurance companies think ten times to hand over a policy because they do not know how genuine the customer is
3. Without insurance, RTO will not register the vehicle
Let's see few other scenarios...
1. What if this joker crashes the vehicle out of super excitement? Let's say he injures himself & the bike. Per law, the vehicle is not insured & doesn't have registration number. Super violation of law!!!
2. Again, how does Police deal with hit & run with a vehicle that has no number? How do they even trace?
3. What if this joker kills someone in the accident? How do they even trace this vehicle? If they trace the vehicle, the dealer has to face some hurdles of not doing their job properly, meaning, handed over the vehicle just with registration number. Ofcourse, dealer can wash off their hands as they've provided the receipt, but still, if they've even 2-3 such issues to face everyday, then, they'll have time only to deal with these than selling or servicing vehicles
4. Last but not the least, it will be way too easy to escape on a untraceable vehicle after committing any crime/illegal activities
PS - If a dumbo like me can relate so much to law, I'm wondering what exactly you've learned in LLB!!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Re: On Road Price Fraud
My friend bought a skoda fabia and told the dealer that he will insure and register the vehicle himself. The dealer was fine with it. The dealer even sent the car himself to rto for the formalities at no extra charge. But at maruti and toyota showroom they deliberatly delayed the delivery until my respective other friends agreed to pay those charges.
I think for bikes the charges will be less but its our hard earned money. We should try to fight. May get lucky. And in our country I think we got to know somebody somewhere to get anything done.
P.S.: In general people are getting rude nowadays, on the road, in the forum. If your point is not to their liking or "intellectual level", you have questinable educational background, insufficient gk and what not. Sad.One life to ride....
