Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?
I recently bought a MT helmet in Chennai. I am very much worried as some stickers are missing and misplaced. I need to find out weather it is genuine or fake! The following were found when comparing with the pictures online.
1. The blade written in the backside does not suit with the one online.
2. The size of the helmet sticker is misplaced to one side.
3. The "GPS location NFC tagging" sticker is missing the front.
Could someone please help! I am very much worried.

Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?
I have a MT Track Spirit but I do not have issues with wind noise. What ever noise there is; its bearable and not uncomfortable at all. At least for speeds up to 100 Km/Hr. The helmet is very light and comfortable. The visor is extremely clear and when you wear the helmet it is extremely hard to believe that you are looking through plastic.

- MT is all curvy & edgy & this can't fix any big sticker; I personally like to have my name, ID & blood group on the helmet, which was easy with SOL 48 & 68S but with Axxis the stickers undergo wrinkles
- MT appears more VFM for the features, protection & certification it comes compared to SOL; unfortunately I haven't tested & pray God I never get a chance to test this for lifetime!!
- MT was available only with button-release in the past, but now I hear it comes with D-clip, which is a standard with SOL
- SOL is slightly bigger compared to MT; MT's inner paddings are of very good quality compared to SOL. For instance, I've used MT for over 5000+ Km (I'm sure its more, but trying to be modest) & the paddings are still the same as how it was when I had bought
- For the size of my head, SOL's "S" was a perfect fit, while MT was tight fit (which I personally prefer over SOL)
Thank you, appreciate your response friend!
yes my MT axxix braking comes with a D-ring which I liked as a safety feature better than my LS2. Indeed the wind noise is considerably high, and in this regard my LS2 FF322 Voltage is better since it has better inner cushioning and snug fit.
so SOL is slightly bigger with inferior inner paddings!! hmm this is something to note.. thanks for letting me know.
cheers!!

And the weights would be mentioned in the below the product description.
I live in Hyderabad, we have a shop here 'adventure on the rocks' which sells SOL helmets and also a registered shop which sells MT helmet, Ido have MT axxis braking helmet and I am quite happy with it. I am wondering if we have to compare safety features of SOL vs MT helmet, which is better and more preferred? for my next helmet, I would then consider either MT again or SOL. Please anyone in this thread suggest!

princesirohi, Sunnyside_up! Sorry for digging into an old thread, but please let us know what the outcome of the meet up during the Xbhp gtg was regarding the pending clarifications. IIRC The thread went haywire mid-way and ended with sunny offering to meet up the pune chapter and help with the answers. We never got to know what came of it.
Also trustvishwas , you and sunny had decided to discuss about SOL helmets in a similar way in the LS2 thread. Sunny had said it will take some time and the MT thread was started before it. I would appreciate if sunny gives his views regarding the SOLs sold here.

Wow! Seems your 1st post after xBhp got resurrected in '08!Originally posted by manu_pulsar View PostI'm a fan of modular helmets and the current MT Optimus Pro Nero looks quite good. Wanted to know any reviews or suggestions regarding the same.
Right now I've zeroed in the following two helmets (both MT, feel them to be well qualified and bang for the buck)
Modular helmets with 5 stars rating maybe safe, no doubt; but I feel nothing gives the peace of mind an equally rated full face does! Purely my opinion.
I'd choose Revenge.

I'm a fan of modular helmets and the current MT Optimus Pro Nero looks quite good. Wanted to know any reviews or suggestions regarding the same.
This reminds me the helmet dilemma I've been facing and thought maybe bhpians can help me out here.
Right now I've zeroed in the following two helmets (both MT, feel them to be well qualified and bang for the buck)
1. MT OPTIMUS Solid Nero
Modular Flip Up with dual certification ECE R22.05 and DOT
Imported by SPG, can buy it online from them as well as the local authorized re-seller here in Hyd (surprisingly no re-seller is there up North)
5.5-6k approx
2. MT Revenge
Dual Certified - ECE R-22.05 & DOT
UK Govt SHARP Rating - 5 Stars
5.5-6k approx
The dilemma - since the cost and the brand is the same I cant decide which one to get - Optimus (for being modular) or Revenge (for the added Sharp 5 rating)?Last edited by manu_pulsar; 12-13-2014, 08:15 PM.

Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?
I mean, if you are in a crash, then:Originally posted by BiKeLovER View PostIn case of accidents we can tap our android phone on the helmet chin which will send the location details of your fall to 3 number selected by you.
Sunnyside_up! can give more details on same.
1. you should be mobile enough to take the fone and tap it on the helmet
2. the fone itself should be functional (to be able to use this feature)
3. The stuff on the helmet that helps use this feature should be functional
There are other ways of achieving this 'send gps coordinates' even without the helmet or nfc... and the one advantage i think this nfc stuff has is when the fone's display is broken or the touch doesn't work in the event of a crash or otherwise. (or does it require the user to open the app and then bring it close to the helmet?)
btw, i think there are other ways to get a similar functionality.. for helmets or other things as well using nfc tag stickers.
Found this video from moto101.. a dealer for the MT helmets:
