  • Want to buy new bike

    Hi Bikers,

I have recently joined this community, since I need your help. I am not exactly bike freak, but for daily travel or sometimes tour as well, I need a bike.

I am looking for good looks and performance, performance will not be an issue:

My budget is between 1.0 lacs to 1.5 lacs.

What I have shortlisted after some research is:

    Honda CBR150
    Karizma ZMR
    Pulsar 200

Please suggest me something here!! Thanks all in advance. Want to buy this week only,

    Thanks once again

Cbr150 is not worth the money it demands.

Now from ZMR and 200ns, if your usage will be more in city, get 200ns and if more on highways, get ZMR.

Take test rides and see what make you more comfortable.
And go through the individual ownership threads. I will help you in knowing what the owners have to say.

      Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Want to buy new bike

Well, the below comparison is totally my personal opinion only.

ZMR : looks bulky (my personal opinion only) with lots of plastics which do not look upmarket, they tried to give the shape and size of a superbike, but failed miserably. Honda engine, hence smooth and reliable, good siting position, a very good tourer. Cheaper than 150r. If i would determine to go for Karizma, i would go for ZMA than ZMR.

150r : Stylish, has the dna of the legendary cbr series, good road presence, comparatively aggressing sitting position, good handling, not too heavy for the power output, Honda engine hence smooth and reliable, not as comfortable a tourer as ZMR, and yes, the costliest under 200 cc bike available which can go against cbr150.

NS200 : Naked bike, power delivery higher than the above two, cheapest of all the three, good handler with comparatively aggressing sitting position, bajaj product, hence does not look that up market as compared to the current biking scenario in India, fast aging is always a problem with bajaj, though this may not be the case here, this is the best bajaj product ever till now. Very value for money bike.

I would suggest to test ride all of them and include r15 v2 and Duke200 too. They all will fall under your budget. Listen to your heart, it never lies . All the best !!!

Lastly, if you can stretch your budget a little bit, say 30K more, then without a second thought you can go for cbr250r.

With that budget I wouldn't suggest anything other than either the KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS or the Yamaha YZF R15 v2.0.
Out of these three the 200NS provides the best value for money. And it's been proven to be as good as the Duke 200 in terms of performance in spite of everyone including Bajaj and KTM personnel saying that the Duke is much better. The Duke is just 0.6 secs faster than the NS when it comes to Acceleration but the NS has a true top speed of 140kmph while the Duke manages 138kmph and the R15 manages a true top speed of only around 131kmph.
But the R15 has more potential as it is more open to performance mods.
KTM also rolls out the RC 200 along with the Bajaj Pulsar 200SS in a few weeks and rumours of the 200NS FI version coming to India are also circulating. Those too are worth considering. I don't recommend the CBR 150R as it's ridiculously priced for a 150cc bike.
But at the end of the day it all boils down to personal preference and you really can't go wrong choosing between these bikes.

Stay away from the honda cbr 150 because it price is very high according to its performance.u can go for cbr 250 any time....for styling go for yamaha and for value for money, raw power, mileage ,spare parts avability and cost effective, any time go for bajaj pulsar 200ns sharing a lot from the duke 200....better spped on highway than duke 200..........karizma for only smooth engine and very good for comfort

              I would say,
For serious highway cruising - ZMR

For ultimate city rush - Duke 200

For ultimate city rush plus highway cruising with better mileage and low price and low cost spares - Pulsar 200 NS

For DOHC honda engine with stunner adopted switch gears and indicator - CBR 150R (Not worth the cost).
