  • Where are the Twisties?

    Hi folks

Let me at the outset state that I am no tourer. Sometime back though, I discovered another kind of high when I started guiding my motorcycle through the scant curves of our city. The true joys of counter steering, which I hardly claim to know much about, started to hit home and we (my riding partner rajatbhanti, p200, 17k kms) were forced to search every nook and corner of our city to look for more roads which are navigable and encourage knee downs. Unfortunately, as is the case with most cities in India, we can count the number of turns on our fingers: its an abysmally low 7, with one beautiful chicane. We've been wearing the road out on these parts for the past few months and though the sport has grown on us, we are growing tired of the same old roads. Consequently, we have been propelled into a potential tour for lack of curvy roads in and around the city. We are considering embarking on an expedition to search for chicanes and twisties. I know that this may sound infantile as a reason to most experienced tourers but its actually a pretty strong force for us. We are so far from Chennai or Coimbatore that its not much use considering. The F1 track in Noida is something we really look forward to, but thats more of an Utopia right now. I would really appreciate the ken of all the tourers who have been around and could enlighten us on the presence of such roads in and around North India. We don't mind touring or riding for long hours at all but we need some direction to follow.

I own an R15 thats done 5000 kms of drags and top speed checks. Before you guys flame me, we ride with full gear(no two piece suits tough ) and all our speedchecks and drags are done on deserted highways and city rides are exclusively in the wee hours of the morning.

    Best,
    Pudix
