  • Help required for legality in building a Twin Engine.

    Hi Friends,

I Am Abhay. And a Hard core biker who loves to ride to different places. I am riding bikes from 1999 right from the day i got my licence. I have ridden RD 350, CT100, P150, P180, P220 FI and now a TBTS 500(2013). Till now it was all well in terms of up gradation and reason for shifting from a Pulsar to a Enfield was only the lack of proper bike upgrades available. I cannot spent that much on bikes like HD, R6, R1 or even a Ninja. Reason, 1) After being married you need approvals for bike. 2) VFM and after sales factor while purchasing a imported bike.

The reason for starting this thread is

    1) Lack of me understanding norms as per CMVR for twin cylinder production in India. All i can find is BS IV and rules regarding engines with capacity >50cc.

    2) If a HD can be twin why can't a Pulsar or a bullet be like it. I understand the feasibility studies of companies for it. But Folks don't you a think a twin in a range of a <2L will be a much more mouth watering proposition.

I right now staying in Ghaziabad and am not a active member of any group.

    Tx in advance

    Thread Moved/Approved.

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

I dont know what help you require.
If some one can build one and meet norms , cmvr is not a hurdle.
If rules are not present for that class of engine/ vehicle , arai cannot prevent you from doing business. If rule does not exist , its not manufacturers problem.
That's what happened in e rikshaw case.

If you are going to take the initiative of building one then dustoms_99 is the man you need to get in touch with. If you are hoping on others to build it for you then the scenario is bleak. Even I was in the same boat as yours, poured over the internet, but there was nothing much substantial. Bought a D390. For now my hunger for power is satiated. Someday may be someone would come up with a reliable desi twin. Am hopeful.

              Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. i understand the example but it is banned now. My Concern is why build if i will not be able to use/ re produce it.

I have created CAD designs, but am reluctant in going forward because of it. Please do help is there are specific guidelines on it. So as to there is no turning back
